Secretary Clinton names climate czar
The Politico ^ | January 26, 2009 | MIKE ALLEN

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday will name Todd D. Stern, a trusted top aide in her husband’s White House, to serve as a special envoy for climate change, Democratic officials said.

Climate was largely ignored by President George W. Bush’s State Department, but the officials said Stern’s appointment shows it will be a priority throughout President Barack Obama’s administration.

Stern was staff secretary, a sensitive job that makes him the gatekeeper to every piece of paper the President sees and signs. Also for Clinton, he was senior White House negotiator at the Kyoto and Buenos Aires climate negotiations.

So Stern is an authority on the issue, knows the inner workings of the White House and has a close relationship with the secretary of State.

“This is another indication that President Obama is taking the issue of climate crisis seriously across the administration,” one official said. “This is a global problem. You can’t just fix it here. You have to fix it everywhere.”

Was he also watching the door for Bubba during his “affairs of State” and out walking the parapet???

This is another indication that BO is seeking to use every office to politicize science and diminish the security of this nation from foreign threats.

If we can't "just fix Global Warming here", then the whole notion of Carbon Credits is a lie. But that is heresy.

Glad to see the Secretaty of State doesn’t have any real important issues to deal with like war and peace, genocide, etc.

special envoy for climate change

So our Department of State now had an official weatherman? Samuel Clemens statement that "Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it" is no longer valid. Of course what's being done about the weather is entirely nuts and won't work but who cares as long as the tax payers are held down and the rulers are enriched.

It is confirmed. “Climate Change” (the catch-all for warming-cooling-polution) is no longer a science project, it is a geo-political project, not based in fact, but based on bullying, extortion, and emotion.
