A new Pew Research Center poll shows that global warming is at the bottom of the list when it comes to the public's top priorities in 2009. Nineteen other topics trump climate change in the pew poll identifying the top 20 issues. Just 30-percent say global warming is a major concern.
Not surprisingly the economy is the number one issue. Eighty-five percent said it was a top priority followed by jobs, terrorism, Social Security and education.
Global warming was dead last behind topics such as moral decline, lobbyists and trade policy.

Why did McCain agree with 0 on this issue??? Crappy made up election.
Even though it’s not a big concern of theirs, a big chunk of the 70% will agree with all sorts of crappy public policy to halt “global warming”.
“a big chunk of the 70% will agree with all sorts of crappy public policy to halt global warming”
What makes you think that? The networks try to give us the impression that more people believe in these things than really do.
sure ~50% vote dem, but they do so for their own reasons, not because they believe global warming etc. Eg all the blacks that vote obama, but vote against homo “marriage”
This is an example of people waking up when their pocket books are affected.
Communism usually slaps people awake pretty quickly.
Now we’ll see how dumb the sheeple really are.
I'm sure it's a big concern to those making big money selling government mandated inefficient energy and politicians loving the promised huge taxes and fees. The one worlders love the global redistribution of wealth and the control it gives them over every facet of our lives.
Other that those folks, no, it's not a big concern.
>> Why did McCain agree with 0 on this issue???
Politics doesn’t seem to attract people who are interested in reading, thinking and analysis, eh?
There are exceptions, but McCain sure ain’t one of ‘em.
McCain was just pandering to his base, the Media and the Dems.
McClame is a moron. That is why.
For a change the public has not been brainwashed. Maybe the drum beat has been too loud and they are getting tired of hearing it. Record snows and low temps might have a bit to do with it, too.
My concern is the next generation who IS likely succumbing to the brainwashing due to the constant fear pumped out by the elementary school teachers.

I’m a mechanical engineer. I absolutely LOVE to play with solar and alternative energy gidgits, widgets, gadgets and gizmos.
The only problem is I can’t for the life of me see how to make any of them profitable, or I’d start a business making this stuff or reselling it.
At some point the sticker shock will hit hard, about the same time it becomes evident that we are more likely at risk of global cooling.
I tell people I do business with you can usually lie and make a pretty penny in the short run, you just can’t do it perpetually and not expect your customers to wake up.
Every time I have the misfortune to stumble on any part of McCain's campaign in 2008 it reinforces the thought that McCain ran for ten years for an office he never really wanted. The ONLY part of it that makes any sense is he just enjoyed the press adulation when he groin kicked other Republicans.
Along the way he harmed many people, and the most serious harm he inflicted in 2008.
I haven't talked to many conservatives who crave cult leaders. I do think even conservatives respect the characteristic of leadership. There isn't any of that in McCain.
“The ONLY part of it that makes any sense is he just enjoyed the press adulation when he groin kicked other Republicans.”
Unless you’re one of these people who think the whole thing is decided in advance. About a week before the election, McCain got up on the platform and told the crowd “there’s nothing to be afraid of about obama being president, he would make a good president”. many booed. why would he say that?
“I do think even conservatives respect the characteristic of leadership. “
Interesting. Why do you say “even conservatives”? Conservatives have always had the utmost respect for leadership, when it is in the conservative vein. We haven’t had any since Reagan. We’re craving it pretty badly just now.
“I’m a mechanical engineer.”
Thank you. Without engineers, we’d be crawling out of our caves at sunrise to go dig up grubs with a pointy stick.

The pointy stick was invented by an engineer but the patent has expired.
“PTSD? Stupidity? Side effects from his erectile dysfunction meds?”
Those things are all funny, but I think we should assume that the people who hold vast swathes of power are rational human beings. If you start doing that, and holding the jokes about their mental competance to one side, there is plenty of order in what they do
McCain wants to be liked and will do or say anything to make that happen. He was about as bad a choice that could have been made to run against Obama.
come on guy, the way he goes back to “Old McCain” now, “forgetting” that the media were destroying him a couple of months ago, getting a plum spot on the inauguration. You’d have to be taking some pretty strong meds not to consider an inside job.
One of the reasons conservatives fail is cannibalising their own. It’s like watching infighting religions. If I don’t have EXACTLY your views, it’s all offensive remarks
Mine was a poor choice of words. I wanted to be sure to distance myself as far as I could from today's crop of people who practically swoon at the mere mention of Obama. It is obvious that Obama's following is cult-like. How else can these people get week in the knees for a guy who hasn't done anything yet except reliease an exeecutive order or two that he didn't write and didn't even bother to read.
Conservatives liked Reagan because he was both a conservative and a leader. Conservatives would have dropped Reagan like he was radioactive if he had moved into the White House and started talking like a liberal.
Conservatives trade in actions and ideas. Liberals trade in personality. The latter is frightening.
Point understood. Thanks.
