I ran into Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, one of American's Islam's foremost scholars, at the Presidential Prayer Service on Wednesday. His first words to me were, "This President is reaching out to us. It's good for the Muslim world to hear that."

No matter who the President is we wish them safety.
I don't think this reaching out is good for Mr Obama or any of us in the area of national security.

I find it interesting to say the least, that Obama found it a good idea to reach out to a group with a 1.5% representation in the United States, over the objections of 47% of our populace.
It is freaking ridiculous what power miniscule fractions of our populace hold.
By all means, contact the heads of terrorist organizations if you must. Contact them first if you must. Make agreements with them if you must. Suffer the ravages of those failed agreements if you must.
Just don’t get upset, when we boot your ass in four years, because we must.

He is reaching out to the enemy, but today he basically told a few Republicans who wanted tax cuts rather than rebates, “I won”. In other words, too bad, so sad. Not much reaching out across the aise, I’d say.

He also said Obama had a spine of steel or something like that. From what I've seen so far, his 'spine of steel' is more likely a 'spine of pot metal'.
Is he going to build a minaret at the “White” House? Will Washingtonians be hearing the call to prayer 5 times a day?

I was struck by his phrasing when he said this: “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers.”
He said “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims” ... with quite a pause right here. As though Christians and Muslims were the two major religions. It may have been snarky, but someone posted that 80% of his relatives are Muslim, so what do we expect from him.
Most households already have sausage and bacon as a staple, many also have a football or two.

Anytime is a good time to go out and buy a Harley. But, I was really thinking dirty pig thoughts. I am very un-pop-culture and need to be educated: So are all footballs made of pigskin and more importantly do muslims know that footballs are made of pigskin? If so, that does sound like a perfect non-lethal weapon because it is legal and “renewable” (the green people ought to like that aspect).
Plus a football wouldn’t go rancid like lard. You never know how long trouble will be visiting.
