Barack Obama inauguration: this Emperor has no clothes, it will all end in tears
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | 1/20/2009 | Gerald Warner

Posted on 01/21/2009 4:04:03 AM PST by GVnana

This will end in tears. The Obama hysteria is not merely embarrassing to witness, it is itself contributory to the scale of the disaster that is coming. What we are experiencing, in the deepening days of a global depression, is the desperate suspension of disbelief by people of intelligence - la trahison des clercs - in a pathetic effort to hypnotise themselves into the delusion that it will be all right on the night. It will not be all right.

We have been here before. In the spring of 1997, to be precise, when a charismatic, young prime minister entered Downing Street, cheered by children bussed in for the occasion waving plastic Union Jacks. A very few of us at that time incurred searing reproaches for denouncing the Great Charlatan (as I have always denominated Tony Blair) and dissenting from the public hysteria. Three times a deluded Britain elected that transparent fraud. Yesterday, when national bankruptcy became a formal reality, we reaped the bitter harvest of the Blair/Brown imposture.

The burnt child, contrary to conventional wisdom, does not fear the fire. After the Blair experience there is no excuse for anybody in Britain falling for Obama. Yet today, in this country, even some of those who remained sane during the emotional spasm of the Diana aberration are pumping the air for Princess Barack. At a time of gross economic and geopolitical instability throughout the Western world, this is beyond irresponsibility.

"To anyone who kept his head, the string of Christmas cracker mottoes booming through the public address system on Washington's National Mall can only excite scepticism. It is crucial to recall the reality that lies behind the rhetoric. Denouncing "those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents" comes ill from a man whose flagship legislation, the Freedom of Choice Act, will impose abortion, including partial-birth abortion, on every state in the Union. It seems the era of Hope is to be inaugurated with a slaughter of the innocents."

Obama’s administration will be known as “The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer and the middle class will pay for it” administration.

Unfortunately I’m afraid that the nation will end in tears.
I have a bad feeling that our enemies will see how far they can go with the new guy and his peacenik friends; and that it will be the ordinary citizens who will pay them price the most. And I’d bet that it’ll probably be within the first 6 months.

“la trahison des clercs” = the treason of the intellectuals, the willingness to ignore facts, to look the other way, to not speak, to go along with the propaganda ... because the ‘cause’ is SOOOO important.

Whether it’s Obamanomics or Man-Made Climate Change, la trahison des clercs is in full swing right now.

End in tears? It’s begun in tears as witnessed from all the weeping on and off camera yesterday. But, certainly, it will end in worse than tears for all of us.

I wish there was an appropriate term for what has been perpetrated upon these United States. Lies, complicity, fraud; not one of these words adequately describe it.

Perhaps the 0bama administration will surprise me and our country will not crumble and fall. It has survived much and it may be that he and his cabal are not the worst. They talk about hope and that is mine.

What is astonishing is the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers now include some people who used to be leaders in the conservative movement.

That Newt Gingrich, a history professor who knows the history of socialism, now fawning over Obama, is frightening.

Yes, Justice Roberts putting the word “faithfully” at the end of the sentence instead of in the middle proved to be more than Teleprompter Boy could handle. Contrary to media reports, he aint too shmardt.

This job is clearly above his paygrade.

The most powerful nation on earth is confronting its worst economic crisis under the leadership of its most extremely liberal politician, who has virtually no experience of federal politics. That is not an opportunity but a catastrophe.

These are frank, even ungracious, words: they have the one merit that, unlike almost everything else written today about Obama, they will not require to be eaten in the future.

You get a partner to pull the other side and it makes a loud pop. Inside are little gifts (the more expensive the crackers, the better the gifts)...a paper party hat, and a joke or riddle to read. Whoever gets the largest end gets the prize. We order them every year for Christmas to keep up my hubby's tradition. Kids love 'em. K. Back on topic. :)

We'd be lucky if that were the case, but I'm afraid the author is right. Smart people don't always have common sense. I work with several people who are not just intelligent, but brilliant. Talk to them about work, and they're razor sharp, clinical, and focused. Talk to them about Obama, and they become inarticulate and emotional. It's like a switch flips in their heads.

Certainly, Obama has the idiot market cornered, but there's a vast number of otherwise intelligent people that are simply mesmerized by him.

The BHO presidency is a positive thing for change. The change will occur in 3 years when a great conservative leader will emerge and lead us from the abyss. I know what you are all thinking and I can't answer who that will be. I just know it will happen. Relax and enjoy the spectacle of the next three years. Of course God - Guns - Gold - and Guts are needed as always.

Resolve to be better next year Freepers - Better informed - Better prepared - Better equipped.

Embarrassing indeed.

The Obammunist media pushed their sycophancy to unheard of extremes during yesterday’s coverage of the inauguration (enthronement? deification?).
It was a sick carnival of barking mad hyperbole.

Tom Brokaw likened wheelchair-bound VP Cheney to Dr. Strangelove. Brokaw also equated the change of power to the Velvet Revolution, the term used for the overthrow of Czechoslovakia’s communist regime in 1989.
His colleague, Chris “Tingle Leg” Matthews, took the opposite tack; declaring that the Bush family were like the Romanovs, the Russian rulers overthrown and subsequently murdered by communists.
(If things don’t go right, that one, at least, could contain some small grain of truth.)

One ABC droid declared that the magnificence of occasion made the weather feel warmer. He added that even the seagulls were awed.

What, for the love of Trotsky, does it take to impress a seagull?

Since The One has proclaimed that he wrote his Inaugural Address, it confirms the suggestion that he was not the author of the two books sold as his "autobiographies."

Even his loving audience on the Mall could not find any lines to cheer. There was total silence while he was speaking.

Revenge is a dish served best chilled, we as a partial nation of America is duly bound to prepare the chilled feast for our brethren to dine upon, for too long they have dined on objects made of sweetened aires.

And after we furnish them with the fruits of truth only then will their blindness be cured.

Now for you rednecks like me and need a translation, lets kick some a$$ and royally screw up all their dreams of a perfect world.

The One probably woke up this morning - first time as-—(I cannot even say it - it makes me sick) - President - and probably thought to himself, “what am I doing here?” He has no clue what it is he’s gotten himself into. Worse yet - I wonder if and when the sheeple will ever say, “What have we gotten ourselves into?”

If I were a Russian or Chinese leader I would be salivating at the opportunity to finally destabilize the USA. The communists have been trying for some time, but they've always underestimated the freedom minded folks of the USA, so their plans have taken much longer than anticipated.

Were I a communist leader I would pour significant resources towards further American destabilization. Were I the Russians, I would work via proxy through Iran to further these goals and continue to poke and prod the US forces in the region in an attempt to tear down all that the Bush Administration has accomplished. Simultaneously I move to take back Poland and Ukraine. All the while I would increase support of the American leftists now that they are firmly in control.

All the while the Chinese leadership is salivating at taking Taiwan. When the US and NATO have their hands full with the Middle East and Russia, China will strike Taiwan and they will strike hard.

I have a long-time friend from college who has an IQ of 150 and, you guessed it, she voted for the Big Zero. I was shocked because she's a devout Catholic with 6 children, and when I asked her why in God's name she voted for him, she said "It's the war....I don't approve of it, and Obama will stop it and bring the troops home."

I was flabbergasted. Who cares about all the babies that will continue to die, as long as the soldiers can come home tomorrow. She's supposed to be so bright - but she believed a liberal politician - that tells ya something right there!
