No closer, though I’m beginning to lean towards holding several regional meetings followed by an event in D.C. rather than one big central meeting. Hopefully we can reestablish and build on our state and local chapter organizations. Eventually, we need to make inroads into each and every state and congressional district, or at least in those where we might have some impact.

Not from Oak Cliff. From Arlington for the most part, and still have family there.
Do the hang gliders still launch from that spot I was talking about? They began doing that, some time after the period I was talking about. It seemed a lousy place for that activity to me, since a sudden crash landing on the freeway lanes could be problematic for everyone.
Do folks still pull off the freeway there to go to that promontory at all? Or is it blocked off?
I don’t know the answer to your questions. I graduated from high school the year before I-20 was completed on the southern end of Oak Cliff, so I just vaguely know the area you’re talking about. I was off at college when the freeway was finished, and didn’t keep up much with all the changes around there after that.
