The French government is strongly advocating the teaching of Arabic language and civilization in French schools. Not surprising, considering the number of Arabs and Muslims in France, and the unctuous deference with which they are treated by officials, beginning notably with Nicolas Sarkozy, who cannot praise enough the splendor of Arabic contributions to the world.

In his message to the participants, French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Arabic the "language of the future, of science and of modernity," and expressed the hope that "more French people share in the language that expresses great civilizational and spiritual values."
"We must invest in the Arabic language (because) to teach it symbolizes a moment of exchange, of openness and of tolerance, (and it) brings with it one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. It is in France that we have the greatest number of persons of Arabic and Muslim origin. Islam is the second religion of France," Sarkozy reminded his listeners.

"France is a friend of Arabic countries. We are not seeking a clash between the East and West," he affirmed, emphasizing the strong presence of Arab leaders at the founding summit of the Union for the Mediterranean, last July 13. "The Mediterranean is where our common hopes were founded. Our common sea is where the principal challenges come together: durable development, security, education and peace," added the French president.
So what are you going to about it Sarko? Put a fork in them. The comments so obviously fly in the face of historical record, reality and common sense, it defies words.
Sarkozy is encouraging national suicide for not just France but the West in general, as well. But, what can you expect from a country that has copyrighted the art of surrender.

Sigh.... well, I suppose we should be greatful he’s a lot closer to conservative and America-friendly than previous French leaders. And I guess we shouldn’t expect the President of France to champion English...

Hmm, this is going to be a problem. Both from a strategic and a tactical standpoint.
I don’t get it. Sarkozy was elected a few years ago as being a rightwinger. Something must have happened, he must have been bribed or something to sell his country out. After all, it’s still France. They go with whatever way the wind blows.
Questions that come to my mind: Why does Sarkozy want to throw the French Language and culture under the bus? Why does he want to sound like such an idiot?
Islam’s modern contribution to the sciences has consisted of efforts in the areas of desalination technology, camel reproduction and falconry research.
I don’t think this qualifies them as pioneers in ingenuity.

I saw a video someone sent on how Islam is wromed into societies...starts out slowly with just a few here and there. They cause no trouble but do not blend in with society and stay among themselves..then this grows and unrest starts with something like this woman who wanted a driver lic but would not take off that hood claiming it is her religion and to make her is discrimination...then more of this comes and there is rabblerousing and finally even when countries are 100% Muzzie they then take on their own whom they think are not faithful enough~

I can't think of a single rational reason that Arabic has any qualifications whatsoever to be the language of science and culture since it is a)far too limited descriptively and conceptually to handle either and b) completely opposed (through its tie in with medieval sand monkey Islam) to both.

I have a theory that the Islamics are spteading billions of monies far and wide and are affecting all of the political world. Cant prove it but I bet that the proof is out there. Look how they threw the American elections.

No Arabic university figures in the top 100 universities in the world. The number of original works published in Arabic is not 1/10 of 1% of the number of books published annually in European languages. Arabic culture has achieved little or nothing in 600 years. It would make more sense promoting Klingon as a second language.

As it is currently constituted, Western Civilization will, indeed, fail, because it has become based on weakness, love of pleasure, cultural relativism, and politcal correctness. However, this condition is really a deviation from the Western tradition. Men used to be men and wrong used to be wrong and right was right, that is because survival depended upon it. Prosperity and a constant rejection of the past by the cultural and academic elites have brought us to this point. When it all begins to break apart, these elites will be swept into the dustbin of history, because survival will dictate the agenda, and it will not favor pinheaded intellectuals, metrosexuals, girlie boys, or moral relativist-spouting morons. Sarkozy is a relic of an era that will probably come to a violent, but necessary end. When this end comes, it will do so quickly, and will affect every corner of the globe. Another Dark Age will emerge, followed by another Renaissance, another period of economic growth, followed by another period of social experimentation, and then decay, dissolution, and destruction. It will be deja vu all over again.
As languages go, Arabic is not a particular good language. It lacks many grammatical constructs that are reflected in the backward nature of Arabic society. Verbs have present and past tense, but no future tense. It's no surprise that their focus is always on the past and never on the future. There is no way to express it.
Sarkozy is demonstrating his linguistic illiteracy and lack of spine when it comes to defending the native language of the country he leads.
