JERUSALEM - Palestinian organizations in Lebanon were given a green light by Iran, Syria and by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia to escalate tension along Israel's northern border if a truce is not reached over the weekend and if Israel's continued war in Gaza begins to severely damage Hamas in the coming days, according to informed Israeli defense sources.
Hamas chief Kheled Meshaal announced yesterday at an Arab conference his group will not accept Israeli conditions for a cease-fire in Gaza and would continue attacking the Jewish state until the Israeli offensive in Gaza ends.

Hamas wants to keep fighting. Well, at least they agree with the IDF on something.
The cease fire is tactical, to allow Hamas to show itself. In doing so, the IDF can continue to field test its GPS counter-fire mortar system and DIME weapons.
BTW, the phosphorus showers you see on TV are intended to generate thick smoke on the ground to inhibit anti-tank missile tracking. It is not an anti-personnel weapon as has been claimed by "human rights activists".

Does anybody see the Gaza war as I do: It's all a part of Israel's grander scheme leading up to an attack on Iran. Consider: 1. Iran has been using Hamas in Gaza as a proxy for their anti-Israeli agenda (supplying missiles and funding). 2. If Israel attacks Iran, the last thing they need is to worry about missles coming from BOTH Iran and Gaza, not to mention Lebanon. 3. So Israel HAD to first weaken Hamas and flush out the missiles first before any attack on IRAN was even thinkable. 4. Then they can attack IRAN's nuke facilities. It could happen in a matter of days, according to NEWSMAX (see below) Comments anyone? ___________________________ http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/israel_iran_attack_plan/2009/01/12/170485.html The Time Clock Has Run Out: Israel Ready to Strike Iran Monday, January 12, 2009 3:56 PM By: Jim Meyers Informed sources in Washington tell Newsmax that Israel indeed will launch a strike against Irans nuclear facilities soon possibly in just days as President George W. Bush prepares to leave office. The reason: The time clock has begun to run out. Iran is close to acquiring a nuclear device under the control of its radical president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei said in June that Iran would have a nuclear weapon in as little as six months. That six-month period has passed. Reports of Israels decision to imminently launch strikes, although unconfirmed, would seem to contradict the Bush stance outlined in a front-page New York Times story last week, which asserted that Bush rejected a plea from Israel last year to help it raid Irans main nuclear complex. The Times said Israel was rebuffed after it requested from the U.S. specialized bunker-busting bombs that it needs to attack Irans nuclear complex at Natanz. The U.S. also reportedly nixed permission to the Israeli warplanes to fly over Iraqi territory to reach Iran. Israels requests to the U.S. for military assistance came as the Jewish state was reportedly angry over a U.S. intelligence assessment in late 2007 that concluded Iran had effectively suspended its development of nuclear weapons. But an investigative report circulated by IAEA chief ElBaradei late last year disclosed that Iran was continuing to carry out uranium enrichment and had already established 6,000 centrifuges for enriching uranium, of which 3,800 were then in operation. American intelligence officials now estimate that the figure is 4,000 to 5,000 centrifuges, enough to produce about one weapons worth of uranium every eight months or so, according to the Times. The IAEA report estimated that Iran has obtained two tons of enriched uranium since its enrichment program was restarted at Natanz two years ago. Last year 100 Israeli jets took part in an exercise over the eastern Mediterranean that was interpreted as a dress rehearsal for a possible attack on Iran.

Try it. It'll work wonders...

Israel owns Syria remember ... they can take out their air defense system without a shot being fired ...
Hezbollah is not going to stir things up a month or two or three (I forget exactly) before elections in Lebanon where they are predicted to win. If Elections were not being held soon, I’d be a lot more worried of an Hezbollah attack.
Hamas, Iran’s proxy just got their butt kicked ... unlike the 2006 conflict with Hezbollah, , there is no possible way to declare themselves(Hamas) a winner ... Iran and Hamas miscalculated big time ...

Thanks... Usually when I cut & paste something in the text box, the formatting is preserved, so I guess FreeRepub didn’t do that because it detected some HTML tags in what I cut & pasted (unknowingly).
