All Hail King Obama: President For Life ( 'Rats try to repeal 22nd Amendment )
worldnetdaily.com ^ | January 16, 2009 | Drew Zahn

Posted on 01/17/2009 5:12:22 AM PST by kellynla

As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well.

The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office.

Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill's language, proposes "an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President."

In the past, some presidents have been critical of the 22nd Amendment, including Eisenhower, Clinton and Reagan.

In 1807 Thomas Jefferson, however, warned that presidents not bound by term limits could use their popularity and power to become kings.

"If some termination to the services of the chief magistrate be not fixed by the Constitution or supplied in practice," Jefferson wrote to the Legislature of Vermont, "his office, nominally for years, will in fact become for life; and history shows how easily that degenerates into an inheritance."

Unbelievable. And people ask why i want to move out of America. These people are treasonous. They want to throw away history. Please take out the 16th Amendment while you are at it.

“1 term.”

I agree. Obama is a celebrity passion like Paris Hilton. At the rate the press is cramming him down the public’s throat, it will be sick of him by the end of this year.

Already have it planned out. I am getting a very big boat and going to live in the med, or caribbean. I probably will never set foot in America after that. I am moving all my money out of the country. I earned it, they taxed it, it is mine. Ill be damned if they are going to take my money after all i have sacrificed and toiled for in this life, just to piss it away on the high life.
Whenever Americans figure out that we need significant numbers to take control of our government, I will come back and help out. Right now 53% of Americans are out of their minds, and another 25% are too apathetic to do anything.
Americans have sold themselves into slavery.

Within two years, Obama's own Democrat party will be trying to run him out of town. The man has never delivered on anything and he's not going to start now.

Americans have little patience and are not easily impressed. This fraud and liar is doomed to fail as a Messiah. He can't pull it off. It won't take people very long to figure it out after he fumbles and screws around with things until everything is totally dysfunctional.

Like all "ivory tower" theorists, Obama does not know how the real world works and we are about to watch an enormous train wreck as he tries to put square pegs in round holes.

Obama is the Second Lieutenant know-it-all who gets his men killed when he tries to lead troops in battle and does not have a clue.

All Hail King Obama: President For Life

That would never work with the 15 minute span attention of most Americans.
Come June of this year tell me how happy the poeple are with barack Obama.
The media and his own campaign set unrealistic expectations for any human beng to carry out. Even in good times and better circumstances.
Already his (Obamas) staff are trying to tone down the expectations but the media in typical meida feeeding frenzy mode will not let up.
Come June 2009 when things are no better and possibly worse for most citizens, the shine will start come off the new star. Obamas support amongst tho fringe was wide spread. Each little group will be waiting for Obama to perform the one little miracle that would elevate that particular group. As he fails to do these things the fringes will be the first to react and start clamoring and whining and protesting.
I was thinking that the Bush Derangement Syndrome that the press drove to the mountasin top would never be exceeding by anything.
I have a feeling that the Obama hatred that could end up comiong from the extremes of the left may at some point exceed BDS.
After all they simply hated Bush from day one because he was not one of them. They truly believe that Obama IS one of them and as the saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.............

Perhaps, but if the media stays in his pockets vast swaths of the American public won’t know he’s screwed up. Lots of people still believe Clinton left office with actual surpluses in the US Treasury.

Yes. The Republicans passed the 22nd amendment because, after winning his fourth term, they (the Republicans) were sick and tired of FDR.

I remember when Ronald Reagan publicly proposed the repeal of the 22nd Amendment. He said, “Not for me, but for future presidents.”

The most desirable parts of the oceans may become overcrowded soon if there are enough yachts available and people who can afford them. The high seas may be the only bastion of freedom left on the Earth. Of course you need to be prepared to fight off pirate attacks.

In order to achieve repeal of the 22nd Amendment, Serrano's proposal must be approved by a two-thirds vote of both houses of Congress and ratified by three-quarters of the states' legislatures.

Before y'all panic, give some thought to how difficult this is to achieve.

Leaving a 2/3 vote in each house of Congress aside, there are 99 houses in the state legislatures. A No vote in 13 would block the amendment from being ratified.

How difficult is it to get a majority for No in 13 Houses?

Obviously that person does have a clear grasp of the significance of the upcoming inaugauration, albeit incapable of communicating it clearly. My main concern is the inclusion of pornography such as this (an upheaval signaled by Pluto’s recent entry into early Capricorn, opposite the nation’s Venus and Jupiter). Children should not be allowed to read such language.

...consider that Pluto’s recent entry into Capricorn opposite the nation’s central formation in Cancer says our shared fortunes are going to be transformed, one way or another, whether we like it or not.

Just damn!

Since this astronomy bullshit always comes true, I guess that means that my money is gonna be taken and given to somebody else.

So, why didn't the "author" of this silliness, or the "astrologer" or whatever they claim to be, just come right out and say that socialism is in the stars and the BO is gonna be favored.

There are truly, truly idiots in this world and anybody that believes that the position of a star in relation to an asteroid as it relates to the position of a planet at a certain time and place in the universe, is a stupid, freakin' idiot.

But, you can bet one thing...BO is gonna do his best to take my money and give it to the welfare queens and bums and if I protest, I'll be labeled a racist.

That's in the stars, baby!

I understand this is a bill that keeps coming back all the time. It’s nothing new. It’s probably not going to get anywhere. It does make good news, though, and it contributes to hits on websites, which is why it gets out there... LOL..

But, for those really concerned, it does take 2/3 of the House and Senate to put forth a Constitutional Amendment. And then it takes 3/4 of the states to ratify an Amendment.

Now, if one counts the number of states that went for the Republican ticket, I think you’ll find that you can’t get 3/4 of the states to ratify it...

Please check your math!

57 time 2 equals 10. 2/3rds of 10 equals 1. So according to Obeanhead Math as Illinois Blogs so goes the nation!

Dude, Puerto Rico is a territory of the UN. Citizens of PR are citizens of the US. Those born there are considered "natural-born" US citizens and are eligible to the Presidency.

I do not believe it is legally possible to deport a native American citizen, regardless of what crime he has committed. We're stuck with 'em.

There’s only ever been one individual in the history of the United States who served three terms as president, and it killed him, in office, at a relatively young age. And that was sixty years ago. I think Bubba would have liked at least another term. Most presidents, however, good or bad, are at least sane. As much as they’d like their works to last past two terms, the job is so stressful, even in good times, let alone tough ones, that eight years is more than enough. George Washington was one smart son of a gun, and the guys who enacted his tradition into the 22nd Amendment did FDR’s successors a small mercy.

2009 - Obama in office. Inflation 10%, unemployment 9% by end of year. Conservative legal firms take Democrats to court on constitutionality of Obama’s new “laws” and SCOTUS strikes down 2/3 of them.

2010 - Inflation 15%, unemployment 15% at election time. Republicans create the “Fix America Now” plan to drastically cut capital gains taxes on toxic assets and encourage private investment in entities previously bailed out by gov’t. Republicans take majorities in both houses.

2011 - Democrat leaders impeach Obama for his past relationship with Tony Rezko and Odinga. This ‘new information’ shocks the public, and Obama is the first African-American President removed by Congress. President Biden dies during this period, poisoned by hair plug solution from China.
