Teachers bringing inaugural to classrooms Richard C. Gross Monday, January 12, 2009 Teachers nationwide will have a chance to bring to their students President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration and the history lessons it can teach. “Teachers nationwide will have a chance to bring to their students President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration and the history lessons it can teach”.

...history lesson? They mean a lesson in dis-honesty, thug politics and cheating (just to name a few) don’t they?
“Class? Have you learned your ‘lesson’”? “NO! Let’s vote him in again in 2012”! “Can we have more bread and a trip to the circus now”?

I can remember watching the 1981 and 1985 Reagan inaugurals at school. I think this is a good civics lesson on the peaceful transition of power in this country.

My schools did the same back in the 60s and 70s. Nothing new or special to Obama.

How about a valid birth certificate before we start talking about a Marxist posing as a moderate.

Except when the unions get involved this will be more like an indoctrination.

I haven’t heard about the delivery date for my flying unicorn. Will it be Jan 20th or 21st?

And it better come with a saddle, or I’m going to be upset.

I wasn’t permitted to take instructional time in 2001 and 2005 for GW Bush. I think my TV will malfunction next Tuesday. It’s amazing how unreliable NYC Dept of Ed TVs can be.

No teacher unions in Virginia. VEA, yes, but no collective bargaining or striking.

I won’t have to worry about my 5th grade daughter being forced to watch the inauguration. She will be off campus representing her school at the school district spelling bee on the morning of Jan 20.

OMG....we could have expected that the indoctrination centers (aka, publik skools) would be propogandizing America's fall to communism....

I just hate reading it!

I will see NONE of the coverage whatsoever, when the Kenyan King is Krowned in Amerika.

Good grief -— talk about over reaction. I didn’t hear such outcry over kids watching GWB’s 2005 inauguration in schools.

“I think this is a good civics lesson on the peaceful transition of power in this country.”

A better civics lesson would be to actually teach the children how the Constitution (In theory) limits Presidential powers whether the President is a Repub, Dem, Whig, Federalist or a Democrat-Republican.

I hate the fact that people are so blinded by positions and ignore the very document that enables that position to be severely restricted and not that all “powerful” in the first place.

Besides, a Congressional shift is the best measurement of transitional powers in our Country, not an individual such as a President who can be played like a fiddle if need be.

Kids probably weren’t even allowed to watch GWB’s inauguration. Bush was a great president in some ways (he got us through 9/11), not a good one in others (too much government). But the leftist, Muslim-loving press hated him from day one, and that’s what would have dominated the agenda of any school 8 years ago.

LOL

This will not be your ordinary telecast of a Presidential Inauguration, guaranteed.

You don't think that racism, God-like qualities of the Kenyan, etc. will NOT be the topics discussed?

Sure; most innaugurations are televised, but the NEA will certainly take the opportunity to propogandize socialist views and espouse the Messiah's coming, I assure you. (Same script as the MSM used for two straight years to annoint Him, and get him elected....)

If you think this is nothing special, you are DEAD wrong.
