Begich says Palin not asking for enough in Obama's stimulus proposal

Alaska's new Senator Mark Begich says Governor Palin is not asking President-Elect Obama for enough help in the nearly trillion dollar stimulus package he has proposed to rebuild the nation's economy. Wednesday, Palin sent Alaska's congressional delegation a three-page letter only requesting five stimulus package projects. The letter only added Kodiak Missile Launch Facility upgrades to the four gas pipeline road projects Palin already requested.

Begich says in an estimated $800 billion dollar economic recovery package he wants to know why Palin is only asking for about $150 million dollars.

"I think the 4 projects she's identified, in my view, is not enough." Begich says

A huge percentage of Alaska is tied up as federal lands, and Alaska is already the #1 recipient of federal dollars.

Good for Palin. She knows the money is undeserved and unearned. Then again, if we absolutely must be taxed, I would rather she get it; she will use the money for much better use than say...Governor Patterson of NY.

This rocks!! Sarah knows what it is going to take to blast Obama out of the WH in 2012 when all of his facades are revealed to be nothing more than marxism and socialism!! If she bites the bullet and asks for a hand-out..it weakens her conservative argument.

Brillant move on Sarah’s part!!

Begich Plans ANWR Fight
Matthew Simon
Updated: 01/10/2009 03:30:58 PM AKST

Saturday, Sen. Joe Lieberman, ID-CT, will likely introduce a legislative proposal, if passed, would designate 1.5 million ANWR acres “wilderness.”
Begich says that would virtually prohibit any ANWR oil exploration and drilling, and have severe mining and logging industry impacts.

Begich's dad made the mistake of flying in/over/to/from Alaska with Hale Boggs once upon a time. The plane crashed and that was the end of that.

The problem here is the "fatherless family". So terribly many boys grow up thinking life owes them something ~ no self-reliance at all. Begich is not psychologically prepared for modern Alaska.

With a little help from the right quarters (no John McCain influence)...this woman can go all the way!!! I love her and Bobby Jindal and would love to see them both on our 2012 ticket! Call me conflicted..but in a good way.

What a bunch of morons. We are putting ourselves in debt another trillion dollars to “stimulate” the economy and then they turn around and introduce legislation that is almost guaranteed to cost people jobs.

Sarah wasn’t gonna fall for that trap set up by the Dems because Sarah is a conservative and that will never change. She is for SMALLER government, not socialist crap

Maybe he’d like to finish the Bridge to nowhere? If he doesn’t see what the Governor wants maybe he shouldn’t be representing the state. This guy is probably just another run of the mill hand out politician who has to be watched. Yeah, bring in more money for your bread and butter projects that will get you the votes. Sarah is running the state the same way as she would run the country, Good for Her!!!

Sarah is crazy like a fox.

If Bambi is popular, she'll take a pass and run in 2016. However, were she to ask for oodles of Mambo Pork, this letter would be used against her!!!!!

She knows this. So does Begich. So do Obama's people. Begich is goading her, trying to set her up.

Sarah Palin will stand firm in the midst of this orgy of spending, and will become a heroine in the Party.

Best,

Chris

Sarah is a very smart woman. She knows that the world is watching every move that she makes. She is sticking to her conservative values, the libs hate that, Begich was trying to set her up but she won’t budge because she will NEVER let go of her conservative beliefs. Many of her friends were interviewed and they all said that Sarah never backs down from her beliefs, even if others around her don’t agree with her, that is just the way she is wired

Let’s hope it does work. My anger (and I mean real hardcore anger) is directed toward our so-called fellow citizens (POS parasites). “This is the root problem.”

All politics are indeed ‘local’, as the ole diehards claim...until ‘local problems’ become ‘national ones’... and national ones become international ones...i.e ..like mandating loans to people who can not afford to pay them back because you want some feel good government and not a functioning one.

I share your hardcore anger and the best way to focus that anger now is in our courts. We have no power in our government right now and those republicans we still have posted at guard..have little power as well. We need to fight the unconstitutional laws coming down the pike in the courts...the same way the enviro- nazis have fought business and progress for the last 50 years.

We have to be ready to support conservative legal foundations with our hard earned dollars..much like we did during Clinton’s reign.

I think it had something to do with former Senator Steven's indictments ~.

Same thing happened in Louisiana a number of years back. The citizenry was given a choice between a Nazi and a criminal. They chose the criminal.

In short sometimes all the choices are bad.

That is what I thought. I am not a Fred Thompson fan by any means. However, John Bolton is a great resource for Sarah Palin for advice and possible service. The State Dept would be a great place for him, that place needs a serious purging.

Personally, the more people she can lean on who detest the workings of Washington the better. Insiders will only serve to work against reforms Sarah and the rest of us want to see accomplished.

She supports our troops 1000 percent. Her first born is over there fighting for our freedom right now. I remember she told Wolf Blitzer to tell Obama “My son’s life is in your hands” she cares about two things, energy independence and national security. She knows energy like the back of her hand. God Bless her, what could have been if the GOP had nominated a TRUE Conservative candidate instead of this McCain RINO, if a TRUE Conservative and Sarah Palin had teamed up, would have been a landslide victory. Now we are screwed with a Marxist and a Democratic party hell bent on nationalizing every damn thing
