From the article: At Marriott, he will chair a newly formed finance committee, overseeing the company's financial performance and how it spends money.

Hmm...Will Romney help end the Marriott's long-standing ties to being the porn industry? (He didn't before when he was on the Marriott board) The Marriott has tied itself to being the porn industry since at least 1990 when it began making $ from pay-per-view porn.

What's ironic in all this is what the same publisher (the Deseret News, which puts out the Mormon Times) said about Romney's connection to Marriott back in July 2007:

Pornography taints everything it touches. Mitt Romney should have understood that. So should the Marriott Corp. and other hotel owners who offer hard-core movies in hotel rooms.

Romney caught a bit of flack last week because he spent nearly 10 years on the Marriott board and yet never tried to reverse the company's policy of providing pornography on demand, something J.W. "Bill" Marriott Jr., defended in a 2000 letter as being economically important. The corporation controls only a few of the hotels with its name on them.

For a presidential candidate who has railed against pornography, this is not entirely insignificant. Even if the subject never came up at a board meeting, one can argue that at least part of the $25,000 plus stock he was paid annually for his board membership came from the money some hotel guests paid for access to the films.

Make no mistake about pornography's influence on society. A recent report from the American Psychological Association drew strong ties between pornography's pervasive influence and the "sexualization" of girls and women. This, the report said, has resulted in greater societal sexism; "fewer girls pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics; increased rates of sexual harassment and sexual violence; and an increased demand for child pornography."

Romney is a RINO...another pretender conservative.

Sarahcuda, and perhaps Bobby Jindahl are our only hope in 2012

Mitt: Standing for true conservative values, like cashing porn checks. Oh, he’s got financial experience all right...

If someone is a paid member of a corporation's board of directors, he bears considerable responsibility for the actions of that corporation. If he doesn't even stand in opposition to those actions, he is undeniably culpable for them.

Putting the religious debate aside for a moment, doesn't Mitt Romney's continuing track record of liberal activities when considered against his recent conservative rhetoric expose him as a political fraud?

This particular topic just might have the potential to unite the blindly loyal LDS crowd with the pro-porn libertine rabble. That would be something to see!

Romney has a place on Lake Winnepesaukee in Wolfeboro, NH. The Marriotts also have a fancy place nearby. Not a coincidence, I’m sure. But I have no problem with either of them.

The Marriott and Romney families, both devout Mormons, have been close friends for decades, and they have summer homes nearby each other on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

Are they perhaps inbred as well?

USA has morphed slowly but surely into a land of dummies. Why else would they elect Zero who has never run anything in his life as an executive.

I would have felt much more confident in a Romney presidency to revive the economy. Buy hey, most people being dumb benefits me. How else can I have become so rich if I had to compete with more people smarter than me.

I am basing my investment decisions by counting on Zero to screw up the economy a lot more. Come 2013, and I hope to be laughing all the way to the bank. Those ultra short ETF’s are fantastic in this climate.

He is probably allowed a “bye” for the first time.

But...it will be “bye bye” if he doesn’t get rid of this policy for his second run.

Romney Criticized for Hotel Pornography

By GLEN JOHNSON
The Associated Press
Thursday, July 5, 2007; 5:01 PM

“BOSTON — Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, who rails against the “cesspool” of pornography, is being criticized by social conservatives who argue that he should have tried to halt hardcore hotel movie offerings during his near-decade on the Marriott board.....”

Looks like he wants to pick up where he left off.

No. Porn being available in hotel rooms is not going away.

There are plenty of substantive things to dislike Romney for. Like his liberal record.
