For other serious purposes, I am seriously concerned about the ability on an individual acting without a logistics tail to consume large amounts of ammunition. for instance, when I was sent to board a ship bound for foreign shores, we loaded another ship with 30 Cal ammunition. The transport from the dump to the ship was via 5 ton trucks working 24 hours per day and took almost a week to finish loading.
What do you think?
States sometimes assert jurisdiction infringing on federal jurisdiction for years without being called on the carpet. Example: Virginia's habit of confiscating radar detectors. They rely on the supinity of owners who won't file claims suits to get their property back. Anyone who files, gets his gear back promptly, because Virginia knows they can't have case law established against them; they can't let a case go to trial in federal court.
That situation has persisted above 30 years now unjusticed.
I have had the same thought, and even darker fears for her safety.
If I were a tad more cynical and a tad more enterprising, I'd take out a life insurance policy on her with Lloyd's of London for big bucks.
If she were from Louisiana and had browned off the Long crowd as much as she has the DC Establishment, she'd be uninsurable. DeLesseps S. Morrison challenged the Long machine in 1961, I think it was, when he ran for governor and nearly won. He died six weeks after the election in a plane crash in Mexico. Light twin, both engines failed, what a coincidence.
Since you were loading up with 30-cal, I'm presuming this adventure predated VN.
You are correct.

Ammunition Accountability Legislation
Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!
The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So the y will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If the y can deprive you of ammo the y do not need to take your gun!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.
Send to your friends in the se states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

...And we are making it clear that the second amendment is not just about posession of firearms, it is about the final physical power of resistance to tyranny. The shot heard round the world was fired in defense of POWDER, not rifles.
