1) "In for a penny, in for a pound." In other words, if you're a felon for a little .22 revolver, then why not go for the full auto Uzi or AK from that friendly guy downtown who doesn't do background checks or charge sales tax?

2) "The first one costs, the rest are free." In other words, once you've committed one offense with a heavy penalty, why stop there?

Seems that too many in the fedgov have forgotten this lesson. Gun owners have not.

3) Never make a law or give an order that you know will be ignored.

The BATFU lost in court ...

Hadn't heard that. It's good news.

The BATFE made a big tactical error. They became so aggressive and assumed that their power would be forever unquestioned. Now, the only FFL’s that are left are pretty much the hard nosed type that won’t take a beating lying down. Guys like Ryan Horsley, Len Savage, etc. aren’t going to sit around while the BATFE runs ramshod over the industry by using economic terrorism and economic siege. The national security implications leave many of us in the industry wondering when the BATFE will be brought up on charges of treason. If their assaults on gun ownership result in a terrorist attack, we will not stop until all of them are on trial for treason.

BATFE is just now realizing that they F’ed up big time. We’ve got our eye on them and we’re going to start calling them out publicly every time they mess up.

Oh yeah, many of us in the industry are using video and audio recording of ANY contact with BATFE. For our safety and theirs of course... The hunters are now the hunted...

Funny how the judge’s name isn’t identified.

Instead, these compliance inspections have turned into burdensome and time consuming almost-anal dissections of a FFL's entire existence including a scrutiny of the FFL's records at a level never seen on a regular basis prior to 2004 and never heard of prior to 2001.

Let's see, who was President during those years? No, wait, don't tell me. Let me guess...

Howdy, LJ!

Have you heard about the sheriff’s meeting Tuesday with gun owners at the Redwood Grange?

Here’s the press release (from the Oregon Firearms Association.)

“An Evening With Sheriff Gil Gilbertson
Should concealed handgun permit holders information remain private? Should the media be allowed to publish the names and address of permit holders?
Sheriff Gilbertson recently stated his opinion on this issue, and his strong belief in the Constitution, specifically the 2nd amendment.
This will be the central topic of discussion, as well as other 2nd amendment related issues, such as “restricted shooting districts”. This will be an open forum, with questions from the audience welcome. As time allows we will also discuss the ongoing funding issue, and the future of Josephine County Law Enforcement.
Plan on attending this informative meeting and learn more about this important issue, the Sheriff’s position, and how this affects you. “

Tuesday, January 13th
7:00pm-8:30pm
Redwood Grange
1830 Redwood Ave, Grants Pass

My first tag line read something like “part of the Henry Bowman Brigade” but I dropped it as figured few understood and they would think me a radical. “Unintended Consequences is a great read - as is “Flight of the Raven” if connected to your handle. Also, I was working with http://www.righttokeepandbeararms.com/phpBB3/ to coordinate interest here but don’t know how to set up a ping list. Perhaps those individuals that expressed interest are already on the lists or have signed up with the above link. Obviously we need to have our stuff together.

Haven't read that one yet, but I will look for it based upon your recommendation.

Raven6 was my operating callsign when I was on the ground... Chosen years ago because of my dark sense of humor and the fact that Edgar Allen Poe was my sixth cousin.

There is a ping list referred to as the BANG list that might serve your purpose. I just don't remember who the keeper of the BANG list is... The "CW2" and "armed citizen" lists are more to my flavor (keepers were addressed in post #2 of this thread.)

I agree that we all need to have our "stuff" together... But it is worthy of note that the best actions will come from those that act on their own. At best "cellular resistance" (not the biological kind) would be the most organized any group would want to be. Inspiration for actions would come through media and grapevine reports of successful operations. Remember... Everyone always talks if captured - always. It is just a matter of how long someone can hold out. No sense in getting many wiped out because of the capture of one...

Yeah, that's the ticket.

I promise it is, Agent Schmuckatelli.

Thanks for response. I remember the talk issue from contacts at FAFB, Wa. I didn’t attend the school but was stationed there.
Flight of Raven is about CIA air war in Laos. Book was so good I put it away for cold dreary weather and this winter has been just that. Perhaps the Minutemen will walk again.

Fed's want the FFL's paperwork.

Bingo! All the 4473's will constitute a local registry of arms and owners.

Jackson County Seriff Michael Winters refused the request, citing a statute about ‘compromise of personal “security measures".

Good for him. He understands that publishing such a list would be the same as publishing a list of people with concealable firearms which would make their homes targets for surveillance and burglary.

Might as well publish lists of people who have valuable jewelry or coin collections.

By refusing, he is doing his job, and effectively preventing a possible crime wave (not to mention saving the time, manpower, and expense of investigating home defense shootings when some crook gets it wrong.

Sounds a lot like The Ravens by Christopher Robbins that was published years ago. A very good read. Hard to get now, though. An original hardcover is going for about $250 on Amazon. Didn't know how valuable it was until I check just moments ago.
