Burris may turn the table on Reid and claim racism. [Hey, it worked for Obama, in the primaries and in the general.]
Burris could raise that stink, since, if seated, he would be the only black senator in the current Senate.
Burris, if he chooses, would really embarrass Reid and Co.

The Democrats are fools. Burris absolutely should be seated. There is no constitutional reason to refuse to seat him. Reid is an imbecile.

This may backfire on Reid. If/When Burris is seated, he could be so angry at Reid, he votes against Reid and the Democrats. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Burris was appointed by a sitting Governor.
Like it or not, IL Governor is still the legal chief exec of that state. Thus, he has every legal right to fill the empty Senate seat according to Federal and Illinois law.
At the time of the appointment, the Governor was still the governor.
When this hits the US Supreme Court, they will side with the Governor.

Sorry. Blago is still the legitimate governor of Illinois, de facto and de jure. By law he is entitled to select whomever he chooses and the state law says the Illinois Secretary of State SHALL afix his seal. Which means that the Illinois Secretary of State in currently in violation of the law and could be arrested.
Burris is the legitimate junior senator from Illinois by law.
Harry Reid and his fellow Democrat thugs are in violation of the Constitution and the law...not that they care.

You are exactly correct!
The appointment of Burris to be US Senator is completely within the law and is free of any ethical stain.
Governor Blagojevich, though a pain in the ass he is, has every right to make this appointment and Sec of State Jesse White and Harry Reid have no business or right blocking him from taking office.
Harry Reid must view himself to be high nobility for the way he runs the Senate. When I watch Reid in action, I’m reminded of the Latin phrase “Sic semper tyrannis” - Thus always to tyrants.

Burris absolutely should be seated. There is no constitutional reason to refuse to seat him. The Constitution does say the Senate is the judge of the elections. By reasonable extention that would include appointments, as both are the methods by which one becomes a senator. I think they can judge the appointment to be corrupt and void it.
To: AmericanMade1776
Who do harry & company want?
Burris isn't their pick?
To: antiRepublicrat
But why should they void this appointment. The person in question is well qualified to sit in the seat and the appointing Gov. has not been indicted of any crime.

The appointment isn't corrupt simply because the one doing the appointing might be corrupt. That is absurd. No one has been found guilty of anything. As sitting governor of IL , Blago can legally appoint anyone he chooses.

Personally, I believe under the circumstances that he should be seated.

Yep you are out of the loop.
Catch the retired judge on Fox News for the minimal amount of certification actually required. Basically if the replacement senator is alive, old enough and from Illinois, that meets the certification.
Blago may be the worse governor since Bill Clintoon, but he has not been convicted of any crimes nor impeached. He is still the elected governor of Illinois.
