Senate Democrats put off plans to seat Franken

Mon Jan 5, 2009 9:33pm EST

By Thomas Ferraro

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid yielded to Republican threats and agreed on Monday not to immediately seat fellow Democrat Al Franken, whose razor-close victory in Minnesota faces legal challenges.

Senate Republicans had planned to disrupt the opening of the new Congress on Tuesday by blocking Franken's swearing-in.

And in another ugly fight, Senate Democrats vowed to block, at least for now, the seating of fellow party member Roland Burris whose appointment by embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich carries a whiff of political scandal.

FRANKEN DID NOT WIN.

This is like what, the fourth recount? Coleman has won all the recounts up to this point. But only this one is going to count? And we’re supposed to trust a bunch of agencies run by people from ACORN?

The Burris appointment is perfectly legal and Reid can’t do a damn thing about it.

If this trend of corruption spreads across the country eventually we won’t have any politicians in congress. One can only hope.

Couldn’t help but notice what was considered a “lead” for Coleman is considered a “victory” for Franken.

I beg to disagree. Below is my first article on the constitutional basis for denying Burris the seat. As of tonight, I believe that a follow-up article with more detail will be published in tomorrow's Washington Times.

That is how it works. They recount/find "missing" votes until the Dem wins. Remember Gregoir in WA?

Here’s a scary thought - Dingy Harry loses his re-election in 2010 just like Tom Daschle did, and then he shows up in Hussein’s cabinet in 2012.

The good news is that at the rate Mythessiah is progressing into his term the notion of him getting re-elected is pure heresy. I remember the Carter days like yesterday.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (who is a black Democrat) will not sign the certification of appointment. Without that, the Senate will not seat Burris.

Burris will attempt to have the IL Supreme Court certify him. The Chief Justice is black as well.

Later this week, Burris is called to testify on Blago’s impeachment hearings. Burris is going to spend a lot of time traveling between Springfield, IL and D.C.

White may sign or not, it doesn't effect the law. Propaganda value only. And not very strong at that. The democrat party, just like anyone else must follow procedure, and the State legislature is where it may be changed. Not the Sec. of State, or the US senate.

My position is that it will not get that far. Blagojevich is calling their bluff, and he aint blinking. Reid doesn't have the authority, or the balls, and he knows it. Not even the MSM can help him. Blagojevich just found out about his 'friends', and he says 'F**k all of you, I'm gonna do my f**cking job. Whaddya gonna do about it'? Until he's either impeached/removed, or indicted, what can they do? He's following the law, Reid isn't. No matter what the media says. Lotsa fun for all ages!

So Franken got a Gregoire, let’s double count and add votes that I want added and take votes from Coleman that are clearly marked for him. Screw military overseas ballots, etc.

What about these Republican Judges that were on the canvassing board, why did they not at least vote no on this garbage.

I have a feeling the "Republicans" in Minnesota are about the same as the "Republicans" in New Jersey and Massachusetts, ie., not real. In some states, the GOP has absolutely been taken over by rat infiltrators. New Jersey and Massachusetts are dead and gone, but there's a lot of the same shenanigans in New York, California, Washington, and Oregon.
