MCKINNEY'S TROUBLED WATERS (Frankly, Cynthia sprang a leak long ago)

MCKINNEY'S TROUBLED WATERS
Last updated: 1:18 am January 2, 2009

Israel's navy gave ex-Rep. Cynthia McKinney and her fellow self-de scribed "peace" activists a surprise kick in the bow this week, turning away their photo-op of a boat trip, which was headed for Gaza.

**SNIP**

She and other anti-Israel activists sailed out of Cyprus (with a CNN crew aboard), claiming they simply wanted to deliver medical supplies to Gaza on "a mission of mercy."

They say they were suddenly fired upon by machine guns from Israeli gunboats and forced to turn back.

**SNIP**

But anything in which Cynthia McKinney is involved is hardly a "mission of mercy."

Frankly, she sprang a leak long ago.

McKinney, recall, charged that President Bush had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks but refused to intervene - in order to benefit his father's business partners.

She also publicly apologized to a Saudi prince after Rudy Giuliani tore up his post-9/11 donation of $10 million to a relief fund because he coupled it with a denunciation of US support for Israel. (He later gave the money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.)

And let's not forget her father, a Georgia state legislator, who publicly blamed her election loss on "the Jews. J-E-W-S."

McKinney & Co. vow to keep on sailing until they reach Gaza.

They better be careful: Maybe next time, her ship will be sunk.

I am glad the article identified her as an “anti-Israel” activist (which she is) rather than a peace activist (which she is not, except when America or American interests are bting attacked.)

I normally refrain from wishing ill on people but if her lungs were filled with Mideast brand salt water, i would write it up as another terrorist getting what was coming.

‘fired upon by machine guns from Israeli gunboats”

NOT. As I recall the story.

Cynthia’s elevator doesn’t go to the top floor.

She is lucky that Israel is a civilised nation. If she were trying to sneak weapons to israel and was caught by the Arabs , she would be missing her head.

When Cindy’s ship was fired upon, did her lovely tresses stand further up on end than usual, Don King Style? Just askin’.

I just don’t get it. Maybe because I’m so young? Only 56... Seriously, it’s mystifying.

McKinney could have Fed Ex’d the supplies. No need to go take a sea cruise.

Her "bucket" has been a sieve since day one.

Really sad to watch her and knowing that she does not realize this.

I think it's fun to watch her, just a constant entertaining train wreck. My only problem is that people actually look up to this lunatic.

Yikes!

Former US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney arrives with fellow pro-Palestinian activists on the Gaza-bound boat in the southern Lebanese port of Tyre. An Israeli naval vessel collided on Tuesday with a boat carrying activists and medical supplies that was trying to break the blockade of Gaza, forcing it to divert to a port in Lebanon.

just a constant entertaining train wreck

You paint trains in a bad light with your comparison.

A "class A" embarrassment to the human race, would be better.

“The amazing thing is that the American Jewish community continues to vote overwhelmingly Democrat.
That has always puzzled me,too.”

And it’s not just Jews that seem to have displayed this enigmatic behavior. Consider the percentage of Catholics that were reported to have voted for Obama at around 50% (I know, based on exit polls). Just an opinion, but I think a significant number of people with “religious affiliations” aren’t religious at all. They view their religion primarily as a social arrangement. I know a number of folks that pick their church based on how good the musical arrangements tend to be at the services. ?!?!?!?! (True story)

To live your life based on the tenets of a particular religion is terribly cumbersome in a society where moral relativism condemns those who actually take a personal stand on issues based on religious morality and ethics. It makes things so difficult when one becomes judgemental about the world. People might form an opinion about you based on your non-PC beliefs. Some might even dislike you for it. All these ethics and morals! They’re just no fun at all. Maybe that’s why a lot of church folks can’t handle the black and white of it all. They just view their church as a social, or ethnic affiliation and leave it at that. LIVING your life based on your professed religion is SO constraining, so it’s just best not to think about it. Just keep singing and you don’t get those headaches. :-)

The distinction between being in and of the world comes to mind here.

factors in her (Cynthia McKinney's) defeat were her controversial statements regarding Bush's involvement in 9/11, her opposition to aid to Israel, a perceived support of Palestinian and Arab causes, and alleged antisemitism by her supporters. McKinney's 2002 campaign and statements had been characterized by some as anti-Semitic, and on the night before the primary election, McKinney's father stated on Atlanta television that "Jews have bought everybody ... J-E-W-S."

According to the Anti Defamation League, McKinney's use of the New Black Panther Party as security, given that organization's use of antisemitic invective, and her failure to distance herself from that group, are "troubling."

In a January 2004 issue of Jet magazine, McKinney said that the "white, rich Democratic boys club wanted [her] to stay in the back of the bus."
