Americans, while far more sympathetic to Israel than the Palestinians, are closely divided over whether the Jewish state should be taking military action against militants in the Gaza Strip.
Forty-four percent (44%) say Israel should have taken military action against the Palestinians, but 41% say it should have tried to find a diplomatic solution to the problems there, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Fifteen percent (15%) are undecided.
Fifty-five percent (55%) of adults, however, believe the Palestinians are to blame for the current situation in Gaza, while 13% point the finger at the Israelis. Nearly one-third (32%) aren’t sure.
Men are far more sympathetic to the Israelis than women. Fifty-six percent (56%) of men support Israel’s military action, compared to 34% of women. Whites narrowly give the edge to military action, but African-Americans by three-to-one say diplomacy was the better way to go.

Precious few people, even in the MSM, have read the Hamas Charter. If they had, they would know that Hamas does not seek peace, but rather the destriction of Israel, the eradication of the Jews, and the subjugation and elimination of the "infidels".

To wit: a people with a solid knowledge of history would never have elected BHO; a people with a solid knowledge of history would be clamoring for the resignation of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd; a people with a solid knowledge of history would refuse to repeat the massive failure known as the “New Deal”. And, so, a people ignorant of history think that Israel should have tried a “diplomatic solution” to the “crisis”.

Those 13% are very closely divided as well. Some 51% of them believe the Palestinians should use carbon monoxide on the Israelis but 49% swear by Zyklon B.
Only a case of stupidity would believe the answer is more talks.
I am not a fan of Israel —I believe they have made many mistakes in the past. BUT saying that, I believe they are 100% right in what they are doing now. They gave peace a chance and it didn’t work. They have no choice now. They must invade Gaza and finish this once and for all. Diplomacy will not work with those that see it as a sign of weakness. The war must be won.

After 40 some years of attacks its about time for Israel to take the gloves off and clean out the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian commoner justs wants a job and a home. The politics there force many to support the Hamas movement but their heart is not in it. If it were there would be a million men on the Gaza Israel border.
I support Israel’s response to the rocket attacks and wish them success.
African Americans better practice diplomacy at home before they lecture Isreal to practice diplomacy. Consider that African Americans are disproportionally involved in crime than all the ethnic groups in US. Example, can I have your money, will not negotiate for it because with my handgun I will kill you and take it from you!!!!
