Influx of black renters raises tension in Bay Area

ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) - As more and more black renters began moving into this mostly white San Francisco Bay Area suburb a few years ago, neighbors started complaining about loud parties, mean pit bulls, blaring car radios, prostitution, drug dealing and muggings of schoolchildren.

In 2006, as the influx reached its peak, the police department formed a special crime-fighting unit to deal with the complaints, and authorities began cracking down on tenants in federally subsidized housing.

Now that police unit is the focus of lawsuits by black families who allege the city of 100,000 is orchestrating a campaign to drive them out.

A feller would think that those well edu-ma-kated liberals in SF would be a little more hip to what black people have endured and welcome them with open arms and also give them the 10% discount on KY.

Section 8 was NOT intended to move inner city folks out to really nice suburbs like Antioch that have enough money to hire police to deal with the problem.

This is voter management, making sure the Democrats win by about 60% uniformly. There's no benefit to winning 100% of the inner city while only 45% of the conservative suburbs. They also need to avoid excessive genetic and cultural inbreeding and mix things up periodically. Without that after a few generations they would be producing essentially zoo animals.

"One of the goals of the programs is to de-concentrate poverty," Villarreal said. "There are just some people who don't want to spend public money that way."
So spreading poverty - and crime - around is a good idea?!?
Whatta jackass!

Anywho, in my village we have a Section Eight apartment complex on the South side and yep, all the bad stuff started to happen (hmm.. why is it always the 'South side'??). BUT - our PD nipped that crap in the bud. They opened a 'Satellite PD office' IN THE COMPLEX and staffed it with Narcs and Spec Ops Cops. The crime dropped to almost zero; No drugs, no assaults, no gangs, and best; No Violent Crimes. So for over the past decade they behave themselves and pass time by playing Bassetball in the Park across the street (I have no idea what they do in winter, nor do I care).

This tactic was so successful in Aug of 2008 we were "Recognized as World's Greatest Community"

In the third season of "World's Greatest," the five (5) world's greatest communities will be featured and Woodridge was selected as one of them.
At the same time my old home town of Chicago was becoming Murder City, USA. I hope Mayor Richie Daley chokes on it. He couldn't control his criminal animals but we DID!

Having spent a fair amount of time in Antioch, I’ll bet a shiny nickel that this is exactly right.

...the tenant slated for that rides his motorcycle into the house and parks it in the living room.

Hey, leave it on the street and it'll be gone in the morning!

Mrs. JimRed's sister's husband rented to a white trash guy who rebuilt the engine of his motorcycle in the living room of the condo. Ruined the carpets. Low class is low class, regardless of color.

I would hate you if I didn’t want to be you. I couldn’t care for 24 acres properly, though. Driving the golf cart around it is fun though.

That's the beauty of rural acres. Walking through them occasionally is all the care they ask for.

I am told by my 40 acre owning friend - people seem to feel entitled to come on to open property for some reason.

Having grown up in the middle of nowhere being surrounded by open property.....

I always felt comfortable using it - especially for fishing. But I always asked the landowner for permission, first.

Asking permission was fine by me. Mrs Frost made great cookies, and she always had a jar full of them. :-)

Tensions like those afflicting Antioch have drawn scholars and law enforcement officials to debate whether crime follows subsidized renters out of the tenements to the suburbs.

What's there to "debate"? It's a slam-dunk "YES"!

The only ones questioning that unassailable conclusion are those advocating it.

I’ve been worried that the government would create this same situation with all the foreclosed homes that sprinkle all of our neighborhoods.

I believe that is coming soon.....

“They use it as a weapon in our county. Dare to incorporate as a city to avoid the usurious tax levels and lack of service? Bang, Section 8 and Crapitat for Humanity for you. “

One thing needs to be mentioned, though.

I could be mistaken, but I believe “signing on to Section 8” is completely voluntary (on the part of the municipality or township). They can’t FORCE you to become signatory to Section 8 (at least not yet - the Obammunists may attempt to change the law).

The catch is, that once you actually do decide to accept Section 8 money, they have you - and you are bound up by the law.

Smart communities know this, and know enough NOT to become part of Section 8. The liberal dummies, of course, will sign on immediately out of their “white guilt”.

I guess the only way to really get away from the spreading plague of Section 8 is to move far enough into the country where the type of housing that could become Section 8 simply doesn’t exist, or, to move to a small town far enough from any large city where [hopefully] the powers-that-be are wise enough to avoid Section 8....

Well, that is it. The county shoved the housing and approvals in before the incorporation, knowing that the cityhood would pass on the ballot.

Essentially, FU whitey.

This whole Section 8 thing is the liberals’ failure to grasp a simple concept: When you put a clean kid and a dirty kid together to play, you don’t get two clean kids, you end up with two dirty kids.

How to ruin a town 101A.

There is so much wrong with this entire picture.

Paying people to do nothing is not only immoral, but it is bad for the deadbeats, who have reduced self-respect and nothing but anger for their dependency. Man is the only animal that bites the hand that feeds him.

Socialism never works and stealing tax money from workers to pay for the housing of deadbeats never helps the deadbeats get over their poverty and certainly does no good to the workers who have their money stolen from them.

Multiculturalism is a fraud. You have a quiet, small city living in peace. Indroduce a new subculture anathema to the work ethic, the desire for eduction, living by the Golden Rule, etc. Now you have envy and anger by the hard workers in the town who see these able-bodied deadbeats partying all day and night and knowing it is the tax money stolen from the hard workers who are paying for free rent, food stamps, assistance, etc.

What a catastrophe. I feel for the older residents of Antioch to have these vermin imposed on them. And this is not a racial issue. If they were white deadbeats, it would be just as bad. I really doubt more than a few of the Antioch residents would mind if a black lawyer had the McMansion down the street and a black docter had the McMansion around the corner, both McMansions being well kept up and beautiful.

It is the subculture of laziness, entitlement, apathy, and arrogance among the low class families in Antioch that are causing this problem, not merely skin color. Funny how I’ve known so many black immigrants from places like Nigeria to Ivory Coast, and being hard-working college graduates who live a moral life and contribute to society, they always fit in and gain acceptance by everyone who is not a true Neo-nazi.

It is not about skin color. It is about a society that has coddled poor people until they feel they are entitled to party 24/7 for free on the backs of the taxpayers and have not a single responsibility to pay back.

It is really overdue time that we tell these poor people, you have 10 years to get your act together and that’s it. If you want to be lazy and jobless we will be happy to let you starve. Of course, we will all need to have our concealed carry licenses by then...
