Or rather up in dead volcano country! All I remember from traveling up by Susanville is ground scattered with lava rock — ergo: dead volcano country!

Dragon land?

An admonition from ancient cartographers used to mask their complete lack of knowledge as apparent complete knowledge. The phrase "I have no idea" was replaced with "Things so terrible I dare not say".

For example, the way Global Warming Truthers explain century-level record cold as "proof" of global warming.

"Here be dragons" is a phrase used to denote dangerous or unexplored territories, in imitation of the infrequent medieval practice of putting sea serpents and other mythological creatures in blank areas of maps.

Souce: Wikipedia entry for Here be dragons

Or, simply, "dragon land". :)
