Palin vs. PETA

Palin vs. PETA
We think it's safe to say that Sarah Palin didn't get a Christmas card from the folks at PETA. (You know, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.)
Or vice versa.
During the holiday season, PETA posted an online game that involves pelting the (moose-hunting) Alaska governor with snowballs, urging internet users to "help make the holidays safe for animals by fighting back against notorious animal abusers."
(In the game, we should mention, Palin is bikini-clad and wearing a fur coat.)
Fast forward to Tuesday morning...PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said she received a call from someone who claimed to be from Palin's office demanding that PETA take the game off their website, Bruce Friedrich, PETA's VP of Policy and Communications recounted to Shenan.
When Newkirk asked for the gentleman's name, he yelled into the phone, Just take the game down or youll read my name on the lawsuit, Friedrich said.
A couple of hours later, after PETA posted a blog item on the call, Newkirk received an email from Bill McAllister, Palin's communications director. Read the jump for the full (fiery!) email exchange.

That almost makes me want to check that game out. Except I don’t want any records of a visit to the PETArds’ web site.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk ....is a diabetic who is insulin dependent, as in Equine Derived Insulin.
So she has no problem shooting herself up with a drug made from 'exploited' horses while at the same time advocating that YOU and I have no access to such drugs.
Some animals are indeed more equal than others.

The irony is that PETA should at least credit SP for eating meat and fish that she or her family kills or catches themselves, and not buying from industrial food farms.

I have lived on this earth for 67 years, and frankly, I have grown weary of the ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the ACLU, PETA, NAACP, both the Democratic and the Republican parties, and entities in general that continue to manufacture ‘news’ through these sewer conduits. The very term ‘journalist’ is enough to turn the stomach and loosen the bowel.

I want to sue the guy in a shiny new Hummer who cut me off yesterday.
Can't do it because he only had a dealer advertisement where the license plate is supposed to be - but he did have a bright red-white-blue Obama decal in the back skylight.

Thats not very specific. Who called? Name and title given? Did you even attempt to verify it was genuine? Or are facts just cumbersome?
**********************
Gov. Palin's secretary (McAllister) needs to be more circumspect. There will be COUNTLESS groups trying to pick a fight with Gov.Palin because, the mere association with her- gives a "group" visibility (e.g. -this election, it was nauseating to watch the singularly unqualified Kathleen Parker make a career on Gov. Palin's popularity).
Here, the animal rights opportunists set the trap, and McAllister took the bait...
How many more people are going to be drawn to the Peta website due to this publicity? Not that it matters- but as a rule- why serve their ends? Unless, of course, Gov. Palin sees some political gain in confronting Peta- but I can't see it.

PETA is pretty active here in MN. One of their favorite tactics is to sneak up behind little old ladies (the older and more frail the better) and slash their fur coats or splash them with red paint. I’ve never heard of them trying the same thing at a biker bar. A few years ago, one of PETA’s allies, the Animal Liberation Front, liberated hundreds of lab rats here, releasing them into the wild. The catch is that it was winter, and most or all of them froze to death.
