The National Republican Congressional Campaign played a sorry game of defense in the 2008 elections. The net result in Florida was the loss of one House seat (Republicans lost two and gained one). Nationally, our net losses totaled 21.
If one side is playing only (or primarily) defense and the other side has their offensive strategy down pat, the offensive team will almost always win spectacularly. Thats true in just about any field; business, national defense, exercise, politics, chess, you name it.
The inefficiency of the GOP to communicate its ideas to the public is now as legendary as it is shameful. In previous articles Ive painstakingly pointed out how GOP policies have largely been correct, very often essentially so. As such, they are also quite easy to defend. Yet for some reason, sanity seems to have lost its voice with regard to the public perception of all major issues. For prime examples of how needed GOP policies are left to ridicule when the reasons for them should be comprehensible to a five year old, feel free to go over What Republicans Must Do in 2008, Truth in Reporting If Only Wed Insist On It and An Effective Conservative Response: Bush Haters Are Fools, Dont Emulate Them .

The only super hero with his own dance...The Batusi.
The GOP needs to state unequivicably
Abortion is murder
Gay is sin
Large government is unconstitutional
Taxes are too high and they will really CUT taxes, not just limit an annual increase (which has been called a 'cut' by both sides since I've been paying attention)
There really ARE socialists and fascists in our government that are trying to destroy America and her promise of individual liberty and freedom to life, liberty and the pursuit happiness ... and the GOP will vet them and rout them out.
That's a start ... they USED to be called 'planks'
That sounds very good. It would be a start.
Guys, let’s leave the cartoons to DU, this man’s a real war hero who was persecuted by the nannies in the military responsible for its liberalization/what was its Clintonization. He was awarded Front Page Mag’s Man of the Year Award for the suffering he endured in order to protect his troops.
He’s also one of the best we’ve got.
Allen West ping!
Well...I thought it was funny.
My apologies.

The GOP has ideas?
The only thing that I recall from this election cycle is humiliation Palin had to endure. The wall of rhino manure that divides the constituency needs to be shoveled so folks like Palin are never stranded alone again.
No prob. Your initial post was funny. It’s just then it took a life of its own with other posters so just trying to bring back the discussion to where it needs to go, why we need this man in a prominent role within our party.
Allen West is running for Congress from District 22. I will support him as I did the last time even though I can’t vote for him from Pinellas.
I guess you are mentioning Adam Putnam. I would love to see him run for the US Senate but perhaps he is also running for re-election from his Tampa District.
I want to see someone good run for Martinez’s Senate seat. Where is Katherine Harris these days? She is a true conservative and that is why the RNC would not support her in the past. I would love to see her run again!
Katherine Harris got CREAMED when she ran for the Senate a few years back. She is FINISHED politically and shouldn’t be trusted within an inch of anything aside from my bed...
Admin,
There’s no blame here, but I was just wondering. It’s devolving into a joke thread and the candidate deserves better. I’m sure the posters who didn’t realize who this candidate is wouldn’t mind if you deleted those posts so we can have some better representation for him.
It was a simple joke and no harm done either way, but if they could be deleted it would really help a Republican candidate get the coverage he deserves, with FR being one of only a few outlets where a GOP candidate can get a fair shot.
Katherine had some great policy initiatives, but wasn’t able to handle pr very well. Allen is a real conservative’s conservative and a very effective communicator too. He’s golden.

Caylee Anthony's mother handled PR better than Katherine Harris.
“She is a true conservative and that is why the RNC would not support her in the past. “
She was pretty much anointed for the Senate nomination unfortunately, she bombed. She underperformed in her safe house seat. Don’t know why but people no like her. She seems to be a pretty lousy politician.
“shouldnt be trusted within an inch of anything aside from my bed..”

Go in about 5 minutes and the rest is Col. West.
He’s always excellent. Thanks for posting that link.
She wasn’t really annointed, and she didn’t even get half the primary vote despite being the only first tier candidate. It was more threatening and bullying to get her way. She thought she was owed the nomination based solely upon 2000, nevermind refusing to acknowledge her massive unpopularity in the 6 years since (and how bad is it when half the primary voters think you’re absolutely toxic ?). If they didn’t give her the nod, she was going to make trouble and make sure the nominee went down (I think partly why Jeb didn’t run). When she got her nomination (without a runoff — big mistake, since I think Will McBride, who got 30%, quite probably could’ve beaten her, and we would’ve had another strong, young Hispanic (Mexican/Dominican) Republican with money to spare), the national party wrote off the race. McBride had the potential to upset Nelson in a way Harris simply couldn’t.
