Anyone Noticing?
Urgent Agenda ^ | December 20, 2008 | William Katz

Posted on 12/20/2008 6:49:48 AM PST by SumProVita

"The amen corner has led the applause for Mr. Obama's appointments, one by one. Each is a genius, an inspired choice, a pick for the ages, possibly the greatest public servant in history.

Maybe it's time to watch more closely. The president-elect has chosen his science, energy and environmental chiefs, and a sense of unease begins to erupt. It appears that Mr. Obama has consumed the global-warming Kool-Aid, and asked for seconds. Still, the mainstream media is in applause mode. After all, these people have letters after their names.

But John Tierney, one of the few cautious dissidents writing opinion pieces for The New York Times, blows the whistle. The president-elect's science adviser, a Harvard professor, may be a certified crackpot:

Does being spectacularly wrong about a major issue in your field of expertise hurt your chances of becoming the presidential science advisor? Apparently not, judging by reports from DotEarth and ScienceInsider that Barack Obama will name John P. Holdren as his science advisor on Saturday."

(Excerpt) Read more at urgentagenda.com ...

TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: cabinet; hype; obama; obamaregime; obamatransitionfile; science
The article discussed by Katz ends with the question: What kind of White House science advisor you think Dr. Holdren would make?

Katz also refers to a minority report, just issued by the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. He has a link to it at the end of his commentary. It should definitely be read.

Your thoughts?

The enviro-whackos have lost their minds. Now they are in charge. I tremble at what is to come if the Al Gore’s and James Hansen’s of the world get what they want. Energy is to our economy what oxygen is to our lungs. They are going to asphyxiate our economy.

Agreed. These 60’s airheads will be burning incense and chanting.

People need to wake up right away. Unfortunately, most are too busy to even notice.

Exactly....and Obama recently gave praise to California as a model for the environmental agenda (NO mention of the fact that it is part of what is bankrupting the state). To use CA as a model is absolute stupidity.....amazing!

I seem to recall that the President of the Czech Republic once wrote a piece about today’s environmentalism as the new communism. I’m trying to find it, because it was excellent.

No one sees it.

Zero has selected his cabinet ... they all get a token 1 minute to speak while the headmaster looks on his pupils with a wary eye.

There will be no Senate confirmation .. they will all "take" office January 22nd.

They will claim the president needs them, and will 'serve' while waiting for confirmation.

The first few hours will effectively put into place enough EO's to complete the destruction of America.

This is a coup .. nothing less.

Here’s a bit of what he has stated:

“BUDAPEST, Mar 29 (IPS) - Czech President Vaclav Klaus has offered fresh warnings that environmentalism and measures to curb climate change are a threat to human freedom. ...snip...

Conversely, the Czech President asked the congressmen not to yield to pressure from environmentalists and abandon the principles of free society: “the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity at the beginning of the 21st century is not communism or its various softer variants. Communism was replaced by the threat of ambitious environmentalism.”

“This ideology,” Klaus said, “wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central, now global, planning of the whole world.”

The Czech President is strongly opposed to environmentalism, which he calls a “religion based on political ambitions rather than science,” and accuses environmentalists of using “sophisticated methods of media manipulation” to spread “fear and panic”.”

Unfortunately, most are too busy to even notice.

That will certainly change. When the economy collapses, millions will have a lot of time on their hands to notice, become furious and take to the streets.

When the economy melts down and people are cold hungry and scared the only “Green” people will care about is the stuff in their wallets and any Environazi or politician that fails to recognize that will end up hanging by his heels from a lamppost....

Liberal college kids always embrace communism in all it’s forms and claim to do so in the name of human rights and environment. They just can’t seem to wrap their tiny brains around the fact that human rights and environment are always victims under communism.

It’s like they’ve never heard of the Soviet Union or Pol Pot.

Right on!...been saying that here from the git go

The set up for a major government take over is being set up right in plain view for all to see, or at least for those of us who can see.

Sad to say that many of today’s students don’t actually know that much about the Soviet Union....even though they are very bright and capable students.

Some more commentary:

“At least this will require Senate confirmation. The Senate should consider certain factors, including those detailed in the new book Red Hot Lies: How global Warming alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed.

Although touted as a member of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences, Holdren was admitted through a back door called the “temporary nominating group”, a process which appears designed and has certainly been exercised to gain entry for large numbers of environmental alarmists who, it is fair to presume from this exception, would not gain election through the normal channel.”

This is from Chris Horner at OpenMarket.org

become furious and take to the streets.

Though I agree with you, my concern is they'll be asking for yet more government solutions/money rather than holding the idiots in charge responsible and demanding a return to Constitutional government.

This is going to take another civil war, left against right, this time around, IMHO

Ol' Doc Holdren is exactly the kind of scientist who would never let reality intrude into his ideology. Give you an example ~ it's pretty obvious that whether or not Global Warming is a problem, we are presently in a period of cooling. It may last a long time. It might end next year.

One of the things we know about cool, dry periods is that CROPS FAIL and FAMINES KILL PEOPLE BY THE MILLIONS.

This guy would advise against measures to mitigate famine and drought if he could come up with a GW relationship.

Now I know this is the kind of advisor Obama wants at his side ~ but the rest of us can't afford that kind of answer.

Best Obama just drop Holdren and move on to someone younger, cuter and smarter.

The agenda is not so much about energy as it is about global taxation, power and control.

All of what we see unfolding is an outgrowth from the agenda conceived under the Law of the Sea Treaty.

Control our atmosphere, control us.

As bad as that is, it is the only thing (another 9-11) that will wake the country up. But, if it’s a gradual thing, most people will not notice.

You’ve hit the nail on the head....and this GRADUAL IMPLEMENTATION of agenda is precisely recommended by a number of ideological writings.

And then they move on. I’m finding life is better when you don’t read, after all. Just like so many of the voters.

And yet they never once stop to consider that life insurance is much more expensive on your own if you can’t get it through the Evil Corporation; health insurance is much more expensive if you have to get it on your own and not through the Evil Corporation; you have an opportunity to get better disability insurance rather than Social Security disability through the Evil Corporation; and let’s see how many could self-sustain their wage provided by the Evil Corporation.

I really need to catch up on my fiction, and make sure I have a solid four years’ worth.

I heard that too! The part about working for the “common good”—and yet it engendered no questions from our free press (cough cough). We are about to become Obama’s experiment in social engineering and the American public is heading for the cliff like lemmings to the sea.

Energy is to our economy what oxygen is to our lungs.

Brilliant analogy!

They plan to choke us to death to push socialism. This enviro-mental movement is nothing more than a coup over the USA, freedom, and capitalism.

Scientists have a hard time defining 'crackpot' although they can each name several. The category often includes a habitual behavior bordering on annoying.
