A man walking his dog in Terrell on Wednesday shot and critically wounded an armed 17-year-old robber, police said.
The incident happened at about 10:20 p.m. in Ben Gill Park in the 100 block of Lions Club Lane where, police said, a group of teen robbers surrounded the man.
According to investigators, when a boy in the group pulled out a gun, the man, a licensed concealed handgun owner, fired shots.
The teen was apparently struck in the head and was listed in critical condition at Parkland Hospital. His weapon was recovered at the scene and later determined to be stolen during a separate offense in Terrell, according to police.
Three other teen suspects fled the scene in a vehicle that was recovered in the 300 block of S. Park Street, police said.
Police identified the teen gunman and one of the other suspects, and were working to ID the two remaining boys.
The robbery victim was not injured.

Dollars to doughnuts it was not a German Shepherd.
Showing the gun wouldn’t even be necessary.

Three other teen suspects fled the scene in a vehicle that was recovered in the 300 block of S. Park Street, police said. Who called the ambulance for the wounded kid? Seems like the three brats that ran off showed great bravery, loyalty and concern for their fallen friend. With friends like those who needs enemies.

You Know, if more and more armed citizens would walk thier dog in the evening like this guy, crime would soon be a thing of the past.
To: smokingfrog
I've had a CC permit and carried for over 5 years now. Never go anywhere without protection. Been lucky so far but would have done the same if in a similar situation. Once a gun is pulled on me, the attacker loses all his right to life.

The link you posted updated the original story. The would-be robber died at the hospital. It’s a sad end for the kid but not nearly as sad as if an innocent man minding his business had lost his life. It’s high time that the innocent are the ones who need not walk in fear.

Yeah, I like the tip up barrel that allows you to have an extra round plus a full clip. Good luck on your CHL in January. I was one of the first 200 to pass my CC course and get my permit in Missouri. Am glad they also passed the Castle (stand your ground) law last year.

My buddy is a Ruger Speed-Six .357...very dependable!
Funny thing, but since Nov 4th there have been 3 armed robberies in my small town. I spent a career in NYC but never expected such activity here in South GA.
In fact, just tonight, in a visit to the local "Spirit Store," there were two trouble-makers outside harassing the clientele. I said "O Ba Ma" and they went nuts with pleasure...obviously Obama supporters.
One might predict trouble on the horizen!

You got that right.I could only hope that my Shepherds would leave someone for me deal with.We bought one of our dogs from a breeder who would normally walks 15-20 of his dogs in the local park at one time.Ten on each hand,no pulling or quarrels among the dogs. With a ton(literally)of dogs on the leash he was not worried about robbers!

My wife and I completed our CHL class last weekend. The instructor said a shooting will always go to a grand jury and expect to spend $20,000.00 on a Shyster, I mean lawyer. Even if you have justifiable cause and are not guilty. I would like some confirmation on his statement. Beretta Tomcat Inox, nice choice.
