The four mean-spirited students have been transferred to another class, Yeah, I guess it is kind of mean to attempt murder.

The teacher’s rabbit is innocent, why’d they try to poison it?

Despite the fact that her four classmates confessed to the poisoning, they cant be charged with a crime because they are under the age of legal responsibility No controlling legal authority.

...they cant be charged with a crime because they are under the age of legal responsibility... But they arrest the homeschoolers and remove the children from their parents.

Well at least they didn’t draw a picture of a noose or a knife; or sell her a cough drop. That would have landed them in real trouble.

Oh my. I thought they tried to kill her turtle or something...which is bad enough. No way would my child go back there.

Wow! Another reason to homeschool.
Institutionalizing children in same age packs and treating them like prisoners promotes conformity, bitterness, and resentment among the inmates.
It is ***unnatural** to treat children this way, and we should not be surprised when socially pathology emerges. Treating children as we do in institutional schooling is a new phenomena in the course of human experience. If our human ancestors of 150,000 years duration could see what we do to children they would be shaking their heads in utter befuddlement.

I was schoolyard bullied at that age. I learned to slip out and start running home as class was dismissed before the bullies said to each other lets pick on that too bright kid. I solved the problem in Jr high by deliberately getting B's instead of A's.

15 years from now this eight-year-old will secretly hunt down the 4 perps and exact her revenge on them. Some childhood memories last a long time. (Been watching too many slasher flicks.)
