Guess they missed these temps:
Northeast Siberia braces for extreme cold of -60C 15/12/2008 12:45 YAKUTSK, December 15 (RIA Novosti) - Temperatures in the northeast Siberian republic of Yakutia could fall to minus 60 degrees Celsius (minus 76 degrees Fahrenheit) in the next few days, the local meteorological service said Monday.

OK if they say so....
Exactly HOW did they calibrate the thermometers in 1880? In 1890? 1900-1930?

Weird. I wonder if they remembered to include all the Russian stations this time.
I expected the lack of solar activity to mean lower temps. I gotta figure no matter what man does, the sun is ultimately going to be the biggest factor in the climate.
If people are so worried about carbon dioxide, then let's go create some carbon sinks. I'm quite certain they could do it if they wanted. However, then they'd probably get upset about methane being release from the ground and belching cattle.

Ho Hum. NASA/James Hansen has a tendency to be rather loose with the facts and attention to detail, like claiming October temps with September data.

Yep. The farmers Almanac 50 years ago used to call these trends “warming spells.” Only difference then was that people didn’t start wetting their pants over it and sacrificing precious resources to pagan gods in order to stop the warming. It just stopped on its own. Now we live in a nation of hand-wringing ninnies.

HUGE bollocks.
We haven’t had a “real summer” for over 5 years, now.
My greatest joy was being out at 3am on the Harley, enjoying a tee-shirt-hot night ride.
In freaking *August*, now I’m in full leather on my way home at ~10 pm~ because it’s too bloody cold to enjoy it.
Riding season *used* to start at the end of March but we’re lucky if mid-June is warm enough to go out without wearing enough leather to cover a sofa.
riding season ends in the beginning of September, too.
We used to ride until late October, at least.

To: jurroppi1
Yes they did make false claims, namely Hansen their hot weather scientist got caught using false temp. figures for ‘07 by using previous year temperatures for Russia.
Never mind, the same institution but another forecaster made this latest claim.
Time these people step back from hot weather recording and go back to rocket science.

Like I believe this... whos the joker in charge? That would be notorious NASA data faker Dr. James Hansen, an Al Gore associate and charlatan. He rewrites the data and cooks the books to make the severe current global COOLING look like global warming.
To: Names Ash Housewares
How are we supposed to know how accurate the temperatures are when you have His Royal Highness Jimbo Hansen “correcting” the past data down and the current data up. He must have corrected the temps 4 or 5 times in the last 2 months! He corrected the past temps at least 12 times in 2007!
To: NormsRevenge
Each year of the last several has been colder than the previousl years but is inevitably proclaimed to be the _th warmest since... Well if it is the _th warmest since some other year then it means that it was warmer in the past than it is now. Two centuries ago oranges were grown in Georgia.. Five centuries ago Greenland was an agricultural land. And I am sure this winter will be proclaimed at some point to be the warmest winter since 1319. When glaciers cover Montreal the ecos will still be loudly demanding that something be done about global warming before it is too late next week.
