A woman has spoken of how she was told to remove her Christmas lights by a housing association worker - in case they offended her non-Christian neighbors.

It’s perfectly clear from the article that this was one overzealous employee, while everybody else with the association and her neighbors love the decorations. She didn’t take them down and nobody else wants her to take them down. Not exactly an example of rampant “neosocialist mentality.”

Really? I see no evidence she was forced to take down the decoration. In fact, it appears that everybody else is defending her.

This gal stood her ground in the face of a over-bearing government type, kudos to her. While it was British public housing, there is still (a bit of) Castle-home concept in Jolly-Old England and the local authorities obviously sucked it in when the community reacted. Still the next time someone decorates they might tone it down and thus succumb to the PC attitudes of the most-easily-offended!
What if she just says, “they’re NOT Christmas lights,” and be done with it?

Searched prior to posting, not found under “mom+Christmas” but I take your word for it.
Warning! Anyone setting foot on my property to remove any Christmas decorations will be met with full force.
The mentality is out there, the Obama “Administration” is chock full of these types of “petty bureaucrats”.
It all starts with declaring you will not post the ten commandments in a courthouse. One incident somewhere in Podnkville. “Oh but that’s not a pattern of advancing the agenda of the Left”. Just ignore the Left, they’ll leave us alone.
Then somewhere else another group of Socialists declare “there will be no prayer in schools”. “Aw, that’s just one place, its only one example”, some will argue.
Then another place will declare “no nativity scenes on public property”. “Nope, doesn’t qualify as part of the overall Leftist agenda, and disregard the lawsuits to stamp out the Christian religion but advance the coddling of others”.
Its all part of a pattern from the Left that is growing in its aggression towards traditional Conservative values. Each time its not confronted, they establish new precedence. Watch your language, borders, and culture go further down the drain.

True story: I used to have the misfortune of living next door to two Marxist liberals, and they complained constantly about my flag, my dogs, my Christmas lights. Admittedly I did put up those awful flickering things from Home Depot about the 3rd season, just to go into their windows at night to give them epileptic seizures. Anyway, the year we moved, I bought a deer statue and put it on the front lawn facing those 2 neighbors. Then I attached 2 of the biggest red Christmas balls I could find at Walmart. It was the talk of the neighborhood I assure you, and then I moved.

I just had to read the headline to tell, which country that was. I don’t think that the US has sunk that low yet, but we seem to be following closely.

She needs to put 10 manger sets up on her property and invite them all, her neighbors , to church.
There is no causal relationship between these two separate issues.
What continues to get me is that the same homes in my neighborhood who now have Nativity scenes on their lawns just a few weeks ago had Obama/Biden signs on their lawns!

Well if you consider that 99.99% of the Liberals in this nation voted for Obama, and then you further consider that the Liberal demographic in this nation contains the highest percentage of thumb sucking, bed wetting, entitlement minded, pacifist, defeatist, America blaming, whiny crybaby wusses in this nation - the “Nation of Whiners” that Senator Phil Graham referred to - then yes, I would say there is a strong correlation between the two indeed.
I see no majority percentage of people among Obama voters or Democrats in general who show any real strength, self reliance and courage. I see a party of entitlement minded, bail-out-our-crappy-car-making-union, politically correct to an insufferable degree, gun grabbing, free speech infringing NeoSocialists. I see a bunch of cowards and haters of traditional values and middle America. I see a bunch of backstabbers ready to wave the white flag of surrender at all times. I see a bunch of wannabe Frenchmen and Eurotrash. I see cowardly whiners who feel that terrorists have more rights than our troops or Americans in general.
Among the vast majority of Obama voters I see a group of dumbed-down cowards who vote one minute to send the troops to war and then the next minute turn around and undermine the war effort the second there is a US casualty or our troops put panties on some Islamofacists head.
YOU may see strength and courage displayed amongst a majority of the Obama voter types - I certainly do not. Don’t know who you voted for but I can tell you my vote was not for a Democrat and never will be.
That’s my opinion and I’m not ready to “make nice” and give these cretins and credit otherwise. And many who hold Conservative values feel just like I do and you can bank on it. You obviously differ, that’s your gig, not mine. These people, these Obama worshipers, have no respect for us, and the feeling’s mutual. The majority of the wusses in this nation voted for Obama. Not to say that the Republicans had any sort of real Republican besides Palin in the race.

I have to confess that being Christian and all, oversize displays of Santa Clauses, Frosty Snowmen, Rudolph the Moose and the rest of the Coca-Cola-style imagery at Christmas offends me too, not that I have money for lawyers.
The same logic that would be used to shut down these displays is the same infringement of free speech logic that would impose the Censorship Doctrine to silence the voice of Conservative opposition to the MSM/Democrat complex. They want to right to not be offended. Come to think of it, but for the lack of money for lawyers, it sounds like you perhaps agree that you also have the right to not be offended.
It’s just a side comment. Of course people should be free to put up any cartoon characters they want, any day.

IMHO, the slang term 'wuss' describes a coward who will not act on his/her convictions. Whereas an Obama supporter is simply a philosophically misguided anal orifice. :-)
