Based on that picture, if that Madoff guy has to do any time he will not survive. Even at a minimum security federal jail like Pete Rose was in would overwhelm someone as soft as he appears.

Well, I dunno. He is a swindler, manipulator, and a first class jerk - so he may be able to continue that in prison. But, (knowing something about the prison system) he will probably go to a "Camp" adjacent to a medium security facility. In the "Camp", he will be in a barracks type facility, and no one there will really bother him.

It isn't a "Club Fed" by any means. It is a crummy place, especially for someone like him accustomed to Palm Beach, the Hamptons, Manhattan, and Bermuda.

But, he will weasel his way through it.

Its [money] as good or bad as any other contract. Using gold, silver, copper, or any other commodity does limit the governments ability to screw up, but it comes with its own problems.

Yep

... Andrew Calamari, a senior enforcement official at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, described the scheme as “a stunning fraud that appears to be of epic proportions” ..." ..............Calamari? ...............Somethings fishy here.

Officer Tilapia had no comment.

I always hate it when I come home to my mansion from the country club in my Rolls and find out I’m really broke.

You’ll win this bet, he is a BIG Democrat donor.

Hey! He had one or two token Republican donors! That way, the MSM can say he was bipartisan in his corruption - even though his graft was 98% Democrat.

Maybe the government will bail him out. After all, at 50-billion, he’s “too big to allow to fail”. /Sarcasm

Re: Do they think they are going to get their millions back? From where?

From the same place that everyone from the banks to state government does ... the people who work for a living a.k.a. Can you say taxpayer?

lots of question here... Bernard Madoff is a Dem but just how close if at all did he work with the Obama champagne..

If he did give to Obama, it was off the books. See post #33. All we know is Sen Schmuck Schumer and Sen Putz Lautenberg were in his back pocket.

I keep waiting for the witch-hunt of the century. The libs couldn’t wait to jail Martha Stewart for an act that only was less than a hundred K.

You don't hear much about Enron anymore, do you?

Speaking of Ponzi Schemes, maybe I should be the first on the thread to mention fractional reserve banking. Amen.................................. All Gov't deficit (inflation) spending are a ponzi scheme, making the next generation pay for the excesses of the present one. Add Social Security to the list.

Hey! I want my check............err...........Direct Deposit.............or whatever...........

And there better not be any %$#&^ ATM fees either!

I’d be surprised if the wealthy individuals put a significant percentage of their wealth into one fund

Believe me. Rich NYC megalomaniacs, Hampton narcissists, and sun logged Palm widows are that stupid.
