All the more reason that we stick to substantive provable issues, as opposed to chasing such illusive rainbows as his alleged lack of a birth certificate. Such preoccupation adds to the bad name already accorded legitimate "conspiracy theories."

Really?? I thought that the precise statement was that the State of Hawaii "had a birth record on file"---but nowhere produces the necessary proof of WHERE the birth actually took place. Has the Hawaii SoS signed an affidavit under oath that states that Obama was born in Hawaii???

As many others have said, this is an easily resolved question---either produce the actual birth record, or a legally sworn affidavit as to where the place of birth was.

Now about that statement.It is against the law in Hawaii to reveal what is in a persons BC. It would have be ok for her to say they have his original Hawaiian birth certificate on record, because that would not be revealing anything in the record ( an original Hawaiian birth certificate is the record itself.) It is telling that she didn't say that. If she had mentioned anything else, it would have been violating the law by revealing the contents of his record ( a foreign BC is submitted as part of the record when applying for a Certificate of Birth ). Saying that his original birth certificate was a Kenyan BC, that would be breaking the law by revealing part of his record.
