Yes, in general, the lives of children are way better (judging by these standards) in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Zürich and other such places - like Manhattan and Inner London - than in the harsh environments youngsters encounter in less prosperous OECD areas like Southern Italy.

But, keeping quality of child care in mind, what food do southern Italian school children eat for lunch?

I don't know about Manhattan, but in Inner London it's a blend of saturated fat, extreme amounts of NaCl (plain table salt), Magnesium diglutamate, fumaric acid, nitrite etc, etc, etc portioned out to young boys and girls by lazy employees (hired by careless employers) who don't mind feeding the young offspring of their nation cr*p.

Personally, I have experienced both Swedish and British school lunches as a child.

The school lunches I and my brother had (which my parents had to pay for) while living in the UK were all good (but poor kids usually ate a bag of chips/crisps and some candy for lunch).

But that was in the early 1980s. Since then, things have deteriorated in most corners of Britain if I'm not severly mistaken.

But, speaking on behalf of the patented Socialist paradise of Sweden, the free school lunches I've “enjoyed” while attending Swedish institutions of learning, I consider not only as an cynical form of Lutheran child abuse, but also as an insult to true Scandinavian culinary traditions - which boils down to so much more than lutefisk:D

Viva Italia!

Not remarkable since Sweden has a population of 12.

They also have a rapidly growing Muslim population especially in the 3rd largest city of Malmo. At least they do not have one ru(i)nning their country.

Jamie Oliver completely over-hauled English school lunches. Now it's as inedible as the regular English food.

Mooshy peas for everyone!!!

To their credit they are reconsidering their immigration policy. Here’s hoping they can do something before it’s too late.

“Not remarkable since Sweden has a population of 12.”

- USA has 31 times the population of Sweden.

That makes it 9, not 12.

A nice bowl of pasta (spaghetti) in Italia with tomato sauce a little cheese on top is cheap and delicious. A bit high in carbs and starch but not too bad.

“They also have a rapidly growing Muslim population especially in the 3rd largest city of Malmo. At least they do not have one ru(i)nning their country.”

- According to some media sources, this is how Islam, by and by is taking over European cities:

There are some flaws to this clip (like some Malmö unemployement figures stated by the reporters which are confused with those of a certain immigrant AREA of the city, namely Rosengård), but in general this is what I, as a Swede, would say Islam coming to Scandinavia looks like.
