Fran Drescher is an entertaining actress and looks good for her age, but that doesn’t make her Senatorial material. Of course, given some of the people currently there, I don’t think that she would lower the caliber of it. At least she isn’t Al Franken.

The parade of people who want to be Senator amazes me - where do these people get off??? No experience, just known names. Are the citizens of New York okay with being represented by people who don’t know their way around government?

What is it about actors and actresses that make them think they are qualified for political office? Just because they are “famous” doesn’t mean they are intelligent or informed enough. What government position can we get for Paris Hilton?

I don’t know anything about her politics, but I do remember when Princess Di was killed, Fran Dresher came out with an absolutely scathing attack against the media — she did not mince words. I rather admire her for it.
