Do you remember when that F-14 (I think it was) crashed near the 15 and Poway Road in the mid to late 80’s? I can’t find any reference to it on the internet. I’m starting to feel like it never happened.

I don't recall an F-14 crashing there. The only crash close to a road that I recall was the aircraft straddling the k-rail on Kearny Villa Road. The press records that as a crash on "163" on March 27, 1978. I think Kearny Villa was "163" before the I-15 freeway opened and became "163" in its place. The F-14 struck a pickup truck with 1 fatality.

I found a reference to an F-14 crash in March 1987. It was a training mission. The crash site is noted as "near Poway".
