Now we know: Peggy Noonan is a "fellow traveler." It makes sense now.

http://mediamemo.allthingsd.com/20081207/peggy-noonan-lesley-stahl-and-friends-raise-more-money-wThe purse strings haven’t completely closed for start-ups looking to raise money–even niche Web sites that hope to stay afloat by selling advertising. Wowowow.com, a site launched earlier this year, which targets women over 40, has raised a $1.5 million round led by Bob Pittman’s Pilot Group and the Rhime Group.

No word on valuation, but I’d guesstimate Wowowow.com’s investors peg its value in the high 9-figure range. The company has now raised $3.1 million in less than a year.

The five founders–former publisher Joni Evans, “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl; New York Post gossip columnist Liz Smith; ad exec Mary Wells; and Wall Street Journal political columnist Peggy Noonan–each contributed $200,000 each in an initial round. Some of the company’s high-profile pals, like Whoopi Goldberg and Candice Bergen, later kicked in another $600,000.owowowcom-gets-another-15-million/?reflink=ATD_y

Pittman is a big dem. Noonan is a lib and has been a lousy writer for the last 4 + years. Her stuff in the WSJ has just been nonsense for 4+ years.

Nothing makes me happier than when stupid people lose money. With the “brain trust” associated with this start-up, I have a feeling in 12 to 18 months I’ll be elated.

Used to love her, esp. when she wrote for Magnus Ronaldus. SUPER DISAPPOINTED, and...she has completely jumped the shark.

How does a woman THAT smart get THIS stupid....?!

Stupid hag!

Pompous, yes. That must be a precursor to stupid. I loved Noonan when she was with Reagan. I find it very disheartening that she has gone to the dark side.

I never cared for her columns even when she pretended to be a Republican. She helped write a few speeches for Reagan and from her ramblings, one would think she was Reagan’s chief of staff and best friend. He probably hardly knew her.

Wow, how does someone who was in Ronald Reagan's head to write speeches for him stray so far??? How is that even possible? What is wrong with RINOs? I'm sick of them.

President Reagan was a good logical leader. Peggy was happy and productive following that leadership. Without it, she is overcome with emotions.

Her stuff has been nonsense because she’s had a vendetta against GW because he would hire her as a speech writer.

Peggy originally was a democrat, don’t know if she
officially changed at any time.

I put Noonan on my “Ignore List” months ago.

Her speaking style reminds me of an aunt whose had a few too many wines at a family dinner.

Peggy Noonan is a good *writer,* but not much of a thinker. She was Reagan’s speechwriter, not his policy adviser. He told her what he wanted to say, and she made it sound good.

I'm not sure this investment makes Peggy a fellow traveler. It may just be that she wants to know that she will be published somewhere after the Wall Street Journal fires her.

I think she should be the political theater critic for the Village Voice.

Peggy Noonan would have been a pinch hitter for Megan Marshack at the drop of a hat.

Over time she has become a self-righteous whiner, hardly a good reflection on someone who had access to Reagan himself. Her mind has turned to mush.

Hmmm. Why would women over 60 be writing to women over 40? To let them know how to ditch their principles? Although Noonan never really had any. She wrote the ‘kinder, gentler nation’ for GHWB, which was a slap at Reagan. And was stupid enough to feed the Senior Bush the ‘read my lips’ quip, which ended up giving us 8 years of the Clintons.

(Raising my eyebrows, tilting my head, lightly smiling and speaking very slowing and softly [so Mika can understand]) “Thank you _so_ much, Peggy.”
