U.S. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd called on a top auto executive to resign in exchange for bailout money from the federal government.

Dodd said General Motors' chief executive officer Rick Wagoner -- who has been with GM since 1977 -- should be replaced if the faltering auto company is to receive any money from the government.

"I think he has to move on," the Democratic senator said of Wagoner during an interview Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation."

"If you are really going to restructure this, you've got to bring in a new team to do this," he said.

Will Dodd suggest his replacement? Franklin Raines, perhaps? Or Jamie Gorelick?

Dodd, Frank and 98% of the US Congress should resign in order to protect the country from their tyranny. IMO, Dodd doesn’t have one brain cell that’s working.

Uh, WHO should resign, or better yet, should be in prison? Breach of fiduciary responsibility, abuse of power? How long is the list Dodd?

Such tokenism from the socialist left. All of this is nothing but a big red herring. After Obamunism is sworn in, the unions will be paid back for their votes -— bank on it.

I wonder if he thinks the guys who gave him the sweetheart deals at Countrywide Mortgage should “move on”? We have the largest single collection of hipocritical clowns in one place in the world - the congress. Most of them are too stupid to hold jobs so they have to run for offices. Good grief.

Dodd needs to immediately report to the nearest Federal Penitentiary to do, oh, 20 to life of penitence.

The thinking is so rarified at the lofty levels of Congress, isn’t it? They are such geniuses in the art of ascribing blame to anyone or anything that isn’t a fault so they can look like they are doing something.

My idea would be to make Waggoner head of the Finance committee, Barney Frank the head of GM and have Dodd rectally abused by a limited-slip differential.

OK, you should resign also, Mr. Dodd, for your role in the sub-prime mess that brought this financial upon us.

Amazing that we aren’t hearing calls for resignations among the banks and insurance companies and investment bank CEOs that are getting 20 times as much in bailouts.

Yea right Dodd, resign so you and your ilk can pick their replacements?

Pareticularly when a lot of the problems they face (not all by any means) are based ont he legislation and regulations people like you and your special interests have foisted on them?

You sniveling marxist.

What we are seeing is the deconstruction of the free market, and having it replaced by a command economy, just like the marxist Obama and his appointees want at the end of the day. That's where they are headed.

Any legislation making this a requirement is a Bill of Attainder and forbidden by the US Constitution. But Chris Dodd wouldn’t know the US Constitution if it crawled up his ares and ripped his tonsils out.
