[Georgia Senator Saxby]Chambliss: Palin 'allowed us to peak'
The Politico ^ | December 3, 2008 | Andy Barr

Posted on 12/03/2008 3:10:02 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Fresh off his runoff victory Tuesday night, Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss credited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with firing up his base.

“I can't overstate the impact she had down here,” Chambliss said during an interview Wednesday morning on Fox News.

“When she walks in a room, folks just explode,” he added. “And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party.”

Chambliss said that after watching her campaign on his behalf at several events Monday, he does not see her star status diminishing within the party.

The Republican also thanked John McCain and the other big name Republicans that came to Georgia, but said Palin made the biggest impact.

Go Sarah - 2012!

This sounds a lot more authentic and accurate than the crap the McCain campaign and McCain handed back to Palin after the election.

I was at the rally in Atlanta and the whole place went crazy when Palin walked in. It was more like a rock concert than political rally. When her speech was over, She and Chambliss left the stage to shake hands with the first rows of the crowd. He was first and everyone was ignoring him, even the press taking photos from the platform. They all had their cameras aimed at Palin. Chambliss was going down the line all by himself almost totally ignored. I took his pix as he walked by me just because I felt sorry for him. Everyone was focused on the chaos behind him, Sarah. The crowds were crazy trying to get her photo, handshake or autograph. She took her time and was very gracious trying to please everyone. She shook my hand, but my daughter got a hug. It was great to see her in person. Chambliss goes back to Washington as a witness to Palin Power.

But has he figured out that he should blame himself
for dousing water on his base in the first place?
Big Subsidies for Agribusiness...
Amnesty for Illegals...
Compromised Energy Policy...
Big Bailout with sweeteners...

Sorry, can I say that I need like fifty hugs, a complete flash website and 30 more hours than the next week can offer to get through this semester. /sigh

Saxby will be on the road stumping for Palin in the next four years, or he sure sounds like it it anyway! Come see a RINO (hopefully soon reformed) from GA thanking Palin (some good ones too).

But we need to condemn the sleazy double-entendres, as in this headline, which no liberal would ever permit to be linked, say, to Gov. Granholm.

You're exactly right. Maybe Norm Coalman wouldn't be in his predicament up in Minnesota if he were a real conservative. Yes to special rights for illegal aliens, yes to the financial bailout, fie! Its a damn shame when we have to find comfort in the victories of such fools.

I guess Saxby's victory is Palin's so that's something to be proud of.

Don’t worry. Kathleeen Parker will come along soon with a piece about how Sarah had nothing to do with the landslide for Saxby despite polling and Saxby’s admission to the contrary and they’ll attach themselves to that.

Well, maybe. Who knows? The 12th and the 20th may assume an election that wasn't fraudulent. The default would be Pelosi, no? That is if some decision can't be arrived at.

Besides promoting the idea of Presidentia Pelosi is an appeal to her vanity -- and that would help gum up the works somewhat, eh?

I am with on this one all the way!!
He’s stupid,
he’s lazy,
he was “givien” his education etc by foreigners and terrorists.
As a matter of fact, was he even born or was he found under a rock?
He needs to prove where he was born and I want to see those grades that make him the “smartest man who ever stole an election”
Now, what makes folks think we should be proud of having him in the whitehouse??
We should all be wearing black armbands for the duration of his reign.

You are so right, that she might fight back.
That is one of my complaints about GW, he wouldn’t fight back. He should have been in front of those cameras daily presenting his side of every issue. Remember how often we had to listen to BJClinton?

He thought he could just take the high road and the people would be smart enough to read his actions and not the media’s words.
Well, we have found out how stupid the American people can be-look who they voted for last month.

Fillibuster proof on paper only.

McCain will give the dems the sixty they need. If he sticks with his own party, he'll be just one among 40 or 41. But, sure if he crosses over, he's a traitor, but the NYT and WAPO will single him out to write glowingly how he's risen above partisan politics, which is something McCain has never been able to resist.

In DC, you have to fight fire with fire.
When you are the top dog, you better make sure everyone knows it. When you don’t, they just keep picking and picking at you until you are is the place that GW is in now.
I think he is a fine man, and just too gracious to get in there and fight with the despicable dems in DC.
Sarah? She just might be like a mama bear when and if she gets to DC. I would love to see her run and support her all the way. I think we all need to make plans to go to DC for rallys and really support the next person we think is our kind.
