India Blames Pakistan Militants -(Pakistan ready for war)

oint Crime Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said the attackers were from "a hardcore group" within Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The group is understood to be a Pakistan-based movement that has fought Indian forces in the disputed Kashmir region.

They were blamed for an attack on India's parliament building in 2001.3

Indian officials have also claimed the sole survivor of the militants - Mohammad Ajmal Qasam - is from Pakistan.

They have threatened to suspend the peace process with Pakistan in the wake of the Mumbai massacre that left 174 people dead, the Press Trust of India reported.

But Pakistan, which has fought two wars with India over Kashmir, has "categorically denied" any involvement in the bloodshed in India's financial centre.

Wajid Hasan, Pakistan's high commissioner to London, told Sky News it was a "very confusing situation" and stressed it was important not to get involved in the "blame game".

Asked whether Pakistan feared the Indian reaction to the massacre, he said "we have got to get ready and prepare for any eventuality" and his country would not "take it lying down"

The stronger Pakistan reacts the more Im inclined to think the Paki government is hiding something.

It shouldn't be too difficult to trace this guy and find out where he came from, where he's been and with whom.

Interesting times we're living in.

I can’t imagine why the Paki govt would want open war with India but they have elements in their military and intel communities who do.

I kind of doubt the new Paki gov has a clue what’s really happening in their country.

Can’t be that the Government of Pakistan prefers war with India to taking on these rogue elements within Pakistan.

Funny, nowhere does the MSM use the word “Muslim” as not to offend the throatcutters...literally

So India goes to war with Pakistan, which is exactly what the terrorists wanted.

Somehow this doesn’t seem like the best possible response.

Give terrorists what they want. This will discourage others from imitating them.

Of course forces within Pakistan did it, in fact its almost certain forces inside the Pakistani government did it. They didn’t try very hard to keep their fingerprints off of it, though. Who planned this op intended for the blame to be cast on Pakistan, and intended to provoke war.

If they fail to provoke a war, they are emboldened, and they’ll do it again. If war does result, they expect to use the chaos that results to their benefit. And in any case, they’ll do it again. Its a death cult, after all. They feed on chaos.

From Al Qaeda’s viewpoint, war with India takes the immediate pressure off them, unless for some reason India decides to invade by way of Waziristan, which seems rather unlikely. And if the established figurehead government falls, they may wind up with all the marbles. Could be a win-win.

Man, this is one situation where everyone needs to take some medication (or have a couple of drinks), and relax, and count to 20.

Neither Pakistan nor India should be eager for a war with each other. The Indian government needs to speak carefully and with solid facts behind it before it makes any accusasions. And the Pakistani government should be pledging full cooperation to find out who trained this guys and punish them.

Screw this one up, and Pakistan could go down the drain and India's economic miracle gets derailed by the costs of a ghastly war with Pakistan.

Islamists want to kill people that don't think like them. Does that mean we should refrain from doing to them what they want to do to us?

I have no problem with killing Islamists.

Those who want to expand the targetted group to all Muslims are overreaching, IMHO.

Islamists want to use us to turn all Muslims into Islamists. I suggest we should avoid doing so.

Yeah, this is going to get interesting for sure. There are more Muslims in Asia than the ME. India, Pakistan, Russia and China all have sizable Muslim populations. Wow. Talk about The Four Horsemen.

This is a very hairy situation. India and Pakistan are historic enemies, have fought three wars and border skirmishes continue, several a year.

Both have nuclear weapons and can deliver them.

India has more muslims living in it than Pakistan, so any escalation/war means civil war in India also.

To think that India and Pakistan will work together to eliminate the Pakistani nationalist guerillas is just nonsense.

Their common border is heavily trafficked and can't be closed. Shorelines are largely unregulated.

Indians want blood. Pakistan has no credibility in the world court that it can control its residents (note, I didn't say citizens).

We used 9/11 to justify the invasion of Afghanistan, and the war fever led us into Iraq. The Indians feel the same. Troops of both countries are moving to the border.

The Indians see this not as their 9/11 but as a Tet offensive. The same group shot up their Parliment in 2006.

It is truly a powder keg.

My sources have analyzed the Urdu accents of the two terrorists who called IndiaTV. They are definately Punjabis. They used the word "muthbhed" (encounter) instead of "muqabla". Like Pakistani Punjabis, they also signed off saying "Allah hafiz", instead of "khuda hafiz."

The Indians are dead certain they were Pakis.

BTW, I noticed in the photographs of the attackers that they wore a sacred red string on their wrists. That is what pious Hindus wear. Obviously done to help disguise their identity.

That is the depth of the tactical planning here.

Also, the email claiming responsibility originated in Russia.

It is also no coincidence that the Trident Hotel was having an Israeli conference on diamond exports and imports or that there were board meetings of a number of multi-national corporations at the Taj and Trident.
