Amen. I've been noticing that a lot since the election. There is a lot of nastiness here lately, but not just on this thread. I was away from FR for several years while overseas, and I miss the old civility. We cannot preach principled living and gutter fight at the same time. Barbara and Jenna were showing a lot of class and we should do the same. The muck on the Palin children was done by bottom dwellers and we have no right to be outraged if we behave in the same manner ourselves.

The family organizes a story about the kids Christmas pageant and the following trip to a soup kitchen and donation of a turkey or something orchestrated like that. Then follows it up with the kids showing BawWah around the home to show off Christmas decorations.

From the context of the story I believe they showed the girls how to jump onto a bed, which is too high to get onto easily.

But I am bad with other people’s kids. I love to teach them about sea food (see food!...opens mouth, showing food) It gives the parents something to undo.
