ZERO - BAMA ?
Please stay safe and thanks for the reports.
Not sure. They were either looking for hostages or westerners to target.
Fox News correspondent reports 80 dead, Westerners specifically targeted, and one British member of Parliament under siege at his hotel.
WHAT ? A POLICE VAN ............ this is so disgraceful on the part of the mumbai police .
FOX reporting that 7 sites in the financial hub of Mumbai were attacked.
stay in - stay safe
do you have any idea why this is happening?
On Fox now, there is banner saying “Police ready to storm Hotel in Mumbai.”
And welcome to FR; it’s always great to have FReepers on the ground.
Let’s hope this rampage is over.
On the bright side, if there is any, terrorists are seldom good for more than one atrocity at a time. I expect tomorrow they will have run out of gas.
Dunno, but that's the way to bet.
I wish I could keep up with the names of the cities. It took me a few “looks” to realize this was in India. I have a nightmare that I am taking a flight from Mumbai to Mynamar and onward to Bejing.
A posh area of Indias financial hub city of Mumbai was rocked by between eight and 10 attacks beginning at 10:15 p.m. local time on Nov. 26. In the first incident, shooting was reported at Leopold Cafe in Colaba, a spot popular with tourists. The second attack occurred at the Taj Mahal hotel, a third near Oberoi hotel in Nariman Paoin and a fourth at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station. More shooting incidents are also being reported at Trident hotel, a hospital and a highway leading to the airport.
All the attacks reportedly occurred within a radius of less than 2 miles, and all seem to have involved small-arms fire, with some unconfirmed reports of grenades being used. A shootout reportedly is still occurring at the time of this writing and a hostage situation is developing at the Taj Mahal hotel. The reported death toll now stands a 25.
The scary thing is that the on-screen headline reads "Terrorists Take Over Mumbai". Perhaps a bit of hyperbole, but it shows how serious that this is.
Then I guess you call the home of this landmark, New Amsterdam, as was its original name, as well.
Stay safe out there and welcome to freerepublic.
What do you think, Vel? AQ?
