Obama and McCain agreed to move forward on immigration, says Reid
Hot Air ^ | 2008-11-25

Posted on 11/25/2008 2:41:42 PM PST by rabscuttle385

Via the Standard. This is what they’re going to do to pass the time in Congress between bailouts? Jerk around with a hot-button issue guaranteed to enrage all sides and exacerbate Democratic infighting while the economy’s melting down and the Iran nuclear clock ticks on? Why not toss social security onto the table too, just to really get the juices flowing?

Harry Reid:

Q: Will there be as much of a fight on immigration as last time?

A: We’ve got McCain and we’ve got a few others. I don’t expect much of a fight at all.

There was a reason I was vehemently against John McCain on this website. I relented and supported him because of Sarah and the threat of Obama. I’m not sorry about Sarah, but I’ll be damned if I ever want to hear that asshole’s name again. I just wish that the people of Arizona would find a real conservative to represent them next time.

I’ve wondered that too, especially considering the way he sandbagged Palin when she was helping his poll numbers by attacking Obama. I actually almost wonder if he’s a ‘rat agent provocateur at this point, because he helps the ‘rats more than he’s ever helped Republicans.

O and McLame are employed by the sme financier.

We need to fight this. Blue Dog Democrats in the house will have to think twice about this. They usually lose seats in off year elections.

I think Harry Reid is underestimating the resistance by the public.

Did you see McCain today saying Janet Napolitano was a great pick for Homeland Security? What a turd. Of course he likes her — the dyke is open border all the way.

I never voted for the bastard and I never will. I sort of wish I lived in Arizona in order to vote against him. We’re lost on immigration, though. We told them we would never support them if they pushed amnesty, and we just made McCain our candidate and gave Graham six more years. What good are our threats?

My sentiments exactly. I’m actually angry with myself for holding my nose and voting for the jerk, due only to Governor Palin’s presence on the ticket, and that he didn’t choose a pro-abortion running mate. That was my line in the sand as far as voting for him. I’ll never be blackmailed into voting for the “lesser of two evils” again, look what that got us.

I think you’re correct. They know how most Americans feel, and they won’t quit pushing it, and they don’t even wait a decent amount of time to start again. We don’t have “representatives” anymore, they are coming out into the open with their arrogance and defying the will of the people, and it’s both sides. Both sides have their own reasons for supporting it.

John “Sonny Liston” McCain.

Next to the “Fairness Doctrine”, the most misleading phrase in today’s political lexicon is “comprehensive immigration reform” aka “amnesty” aka “open borders” aka “Democrat majorities as far as the eye can see”.

How did we get stuck with this guy?

Don’t beat yourself up too badly. I couldn’t do it myself—especially after Palin pandered on illegal immigration to the Univision audience—but it got tempting towards the end with Obama as the other choice. I figured if McCain couldn’t win in Texas without my vote, he didn’t deserve to win at all. Maybe I would have done differently if I were in a battleground state, but I guess I’ll never know.

So, in the coming depression and in addition to SEVERAL MILLION Americans out of work- the Obamites plan to “create” enough jobs for them plus millions more immigrants

And give them health care too I understand the democrat goal to pump up their voter rolls by another 15 million or so 3rd world people looking to be “taken care of” ...notwithstanding what that does to America

But jobs.... prove it to the legals who played by the rules. They will be the first ones bumped.

I live in Mississippi where he would have won anyway, but it’s the principle of the thing, and that I’ve got to learn to stop blackmailed by scare tactics-look what happened anyway. And on that note, I didn’t know that about Palin pandering on illegal immigration-would you know if that’s her true stance, or she was just “reading” from McCain’s script, as being only the running mate?

Ted Kennedy’s amnesty, for the third time, guarantees a long-lasting Democrat majority.

And a tip of the fedora to GW Bush for help making it all possible by leaving our borders unguarded. Since he couldn't be a great GOP President, he'll have the distinction of being the last GOP President.

Here's a hint: McCain will be the one who gives The Democrats their veto-proof majority. The dems have only to win either MN or GA.

McCain loves to see his name in print and will be thrilled when the WAPO and NYT glowingly write about how he's grown and no longer a slave to partisanship.

I finally feel at home. I thought republicans had gone nuts during campaign. McCain had little chances of winning barring a foreign policy crisis, and had zero chance after he soiled his pants on financial bailout. Think about this: in September he tried to run on “I’m not a republican I am a reformer” , the true McCain throwing fellow republicans running for office under bus. Suppose he had got lucky and won on Ayers with a dem majority? He would be so hated by dems he would cut deals left and right to get back in favor. He would divide our party for the next decade as he puts R brand on tax hikes, amnesty, etc. McCain and democrat majority? I think not!

Now that he lost, which he had to to save our party, he will have few R friends if he tries this crap.

I couldn’t believe when people were applauding his convention acceptance speech. All I heard was, “I’m going after the crooks, and I mean Republicans!” Every negative about Washington he mentioned, he made sure to lay at the feet of his own party. The election really was between a couple of Democrats.

RE: All I heard was, “I’m going after the crooks, and I mean Republicans!”

You got further than me, I couldnt watch him. He only dropped that crap when he found out it backfired. I too was warning freepers they would be sorry if he won. A few days before the election I dropped the issue because it was Obama hysteria. But I knew that McCain winning would only make things worse. And him losing would bring us together, after GWB is gone.

Actually, Obama acting moderate and reasonable and getting Repub support is our biggest threat (not as bad as having a Repub termite leader as president.) We really need BoB to act like the Chavis/Sheenan Moonbat that freepers were claiming he is, for us to launch an effective resistance and draw democrats to our side (voting no.)

What is “Rense”? I don’t watch much television. And I didn’t say that I believe it, I said it’s casually crossed my mind. Such things cross everybody’s mind, they’re only crazy when they don’t dismiss such thoughts and build upon them.

I’m getting a little tired of your snap judgements and snide remarks, so I think I’ll just ignore you until you learn some manners, and grow up and stop presuming to know all about me from comments taken out of context on a message board, when my life and family are nothing like you appear to have decided.
