Correct. Reid ‘gave’ the automakers until Dec. 7 to provide a bill that congress would find acceptable.

Is this news conference underway or are they running on Obama Time?

Suppose you’re an idiot.
And suppose you’re in Congress.
But I repeat myself.

What I want to know is: Will they have to turn over their car titles until the loan is repaid?

Reid and Pelosi gave statements first, about 30 minutes ago, then the “bipartisan” group got to the podium. It’s over now.

What does GM making cars in India have to do with US jobs? Oh, come now. Do you really think there's no impact, and that there will be no outsourcing to Indian factories?
Whether or not that's a bad or a good thing is a topic for a different discussion. The fact is that the Big 3 are using "huge job losses" as a club to beat Congress into submission. Doing so in the context of likely outsourcing has at least the appearance of hypcrisy.

This makes me soo steamed.
Why do the “3” get a bailout?
What about all the other companies in past years.
Why didn’t they get bailouts?
Enron, WorldComm, Delta, United, etc.

Personally I think she should run one of the Big 3, give Romney the other two. Sarah seems to be a manager along the lines, "Shape up, or ship out!"
Go, Sarah!

Calling this is a loan is like calling forced sodomy a compulsory prostrate exam.QOTD material right there.

Send in the clowns.....the public has no confidence in GM, Ford, Congress, Bush, Obama, Paulson, Pelosi, Baaaarney, etc.
GM should not receive any federal loans or bail out money. GM should file for bankruptcy, like any other failed business.

GM should go to GMAC for a loan, simple as that
then send the payments to the union autoworkers
then sit back and watch how fast GM models Honda in Ohio

Senators...Shelby and Ensign, Ok Sen Tobin(sp?), DeMint, Vitter just were on CNBC saying this is just a down payment and it ain't gonna work and they intent to tell the American people about it....(I think that is a planned Filibuster )...
I think they will have a problem doing that....
