Have we really won? Or is the enemy simply biding its time until January 20th when a new, soft-on-terrorism administration takes over? What assurance have we that Iran will not back some massive shi’ite invasion of Iraq sometime after January 20th? None, it seems to me.

Is this actually the peace of victory? Or is it the quiet before the next storm?

I think Bush should go ahead and do a massive withdrawal before his departure—signaling the end of the war. That way after Obama takes office, any resurgence will be on his watch. Also, if our troops came home in December in time for the holidays, victorious, under Bush’s command, it would make Obama look pretty stupid for trying to prosecute his administration for war crimes, like they are threatening to do.
