The former rebels plan to put all children in public schools by 2010, saying it will even the playing field. Kathmandu, Nepal - The massive election win last April by Nepal's former rebel Maoists put them in the position to set the government agenda, and bring about drastic changes they promised during their campaign. But their initial proposals on education – to end private investment in schools and distribute academic certificates to Maoist fighters – have left many Nepalese worried. They're concerned that their new government will take the country in too radical a direction that favors its former fighters and Marxist-Leninist-Maoist ideology. "Recent statements by Maoist leaders are indicative of their political immaturity," says Krishna Khanal, a political scientist at Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu.

Yes, I expect Obama will be acting to eliminate home schooling soon. First, because he owes the teacher’s union. Second, because it interferes with the Alinsky type indoctrination he has spent his life promoting.

This will probably involve making enough judicial appointments so he won’t be reversed by parents who take it to court and argue that as parents they have the primary right to bring up their own kids.

We have already seen this fight in California and a few other places.

The left cannot stand the existance of alternative schooling systems.

They don’t reproduce naturally, and must pass on their ideology through indoctrination of conservative’s children.

My wife graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Katmandu. Hopefully the good German Nuns there will hold out awhile given a good supply of MG-42s, MP-38/40s, and potatoe masher grenades.

They got the savage lion syndrome. THey don’t want the cubs to be stronger than them, so they kill those of dominant females.

I would never, ever wish this on anyone, but I would like for some of the idiot homeschoolers in our group, who worship bambi, to at least get a little scare regarding their situation. Just a little one - like a hard jab....

Male lions kill cubs for one reason, they are not THEIR cubs, and lactating females don't go into estrus.

There is no “pick and chose” the cubs of dominant females. When a new male Lion takes over a pride by driving off the old male, the first order of business is to kill all the cubs, the second order of business is to mate with the females, and the third order of business is to survive long enough as pack leader so that some of your cubs grow up (males being driven out, females kept in the pride) before being ‘deposed’ and all your cubs killed by the new male lion.

It is a messy business, but it is in the male Lions best reproductive interest to kill the cubs so that females will go into estrus and start raising HIS cubs before the inevitable defeat, exile, and the death of cubs.
