ABC lies...it was Independent Financial Planners...each of whom sells AIG products and they each paid their own way. (I live here in AZ...it got a lot of coverage)
But I’m with you on this...but at a complete loss as to what we can actually do. Ideas?

I ended up with FOUR separate accounts with AMEXCO with UNLIMITED credit on each.
Not that I have a business to worry about, but we needed a card for the son off in college in a distant state.
The idea was it would enable us to keep track of incidental college expenses and make it possible for him to get an airline ticket for planned trips.
Everything worked out great, but we still have FOUR accounts ~ and all that happened was that AMEXCO's telephone clerks misunderstood that all we wanted was another card, not separate accounts.
They've not taken any action on any of my accounts yet ~ they still have no limits!

"That should have been a clue that they are in deep doo-doo. It's probably due to billions of dollars not getting paid on all those lines of credit that they extended to teens, college students and ne'er-do-wells.........." Well it would make sense to drop a credit line on a borderline customer with a spotty credit rating, but like I said my rating is about as spotless as you can get (My accountant and I review my credit rating on the three major reporting agencies once a quarter)
I buy my materials for our business with the AMEX because everyone of my suppliers take it and prefer it (I have no idea why since AMEX usually has the highest fees) We can easily exceed 40-50K materials a month.
It just does not make sense for a company introuble to chuck away all that money in fees.

If any credit card company gets nationalized, they should have to lower their default rate to 12 percent. If my money is going to bail out those crooks, no one should ever have to pay the company 25 to 30 percent interest ever again.

Hmm...if AmX is in favor of having its debts wiped out, I wonder why they insist that I pay my bill every month.

Oh, this is rich. Now ObammyPelosiReid will start giving more not only to the corporate charities but the “I gots mines coming” citizenry who elected him. All the while raising taxes on the golden geese that make this economy hum. The money has to run out sometime, doesn’t it?
