Christ told us to pray to God in a dark corner, privatly. He considered public expressions of faith Pharisaical (hypocritical). The soliders who are religious should pray, pray and then some, and leave everything to God. There is nothing a pastor or a priest can do for them. It’s all in God’s hands.

It always puzzles me why an atheist would be upset at a prayer -- assuming, of course, that the prayer is an all-inclusive wish for guidance and a blessing.
A true atheist will consider a prayer to be a pointless and harmless endeavor. I guess those who get upset at a prayer are atheists without a deep faith LOL.
