Pray that President Obama achieves greatness in office. Our overriding concern must always be the country we love, not the success of a party or an ideology.
Don't assume that Obama is always wrong. Judge all of his positions on the merits; don't conclude that a position is wrong just because he takes it.
Be patient in your opposition. Don't mimic the left (this is always good advice) and conclude that because the country isn't getting mad about policies that bother you, Obama is therefore a "Teflon president." In fact, you should stop reading the first 10 pundits who call him that. Americans are fair-minded. They will give Obama time to succeed, as they should. The mainstream media will buy him additional time. But eventually the honeymoon will end.
Be persistent in your opposition. The first 100 things that you criticize Obama for may not resonate at all. The 101st may turn public opinion against him. More likely, it may supply the mass that begins to turn the tide.
Be fair in your opposition. None of the 101 things that you criticize Obama for should be illegitimate or trivial. Remember that the president isn't responsible for every adverse development that occurs on his watch. Even sound decisions often produce adverse consequences. Don't judge Obama's decisions in a vacuum; compare them to the alternatives.
Be skeptical in your opposition. Obama's campaign was fueled by a broken promise that he would finance it through public funding. Obama also dissembled when he minimized his relationship with William Ayers by characterizing Ayers as someone who just lives in his neighborhood. In fact, the two had collaborated several times, including on a radical, unsuccessful educational initiative. And Obama almost certainly dissembled when he disavowed knowledge of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's views about America despite having listened to Wright preach for almost 20 years. Under these circumstances, it would be foolish to view Obama's pronouncements with anything other than skepticism.
But the skepticism should run both ways, extending to attacks on Obama as well. The temptation to invent or misrepresent facts for political gain, or just out of sheer spite, is a bi-partisan phenomenon.

Support fledgling conservative institutions. The left has "marched through our institutions" - including the MSM, Hollywood, the public schools, academia, and even large swaths of corporate America. Conservatives need to respond by developing alternative sources of information, entertainment, and education. These alternatives won't succeed unless we support them.
My final tips are the most personal ones, and therefore the most important:
Don't hate. I don't assume that the Obama administration will turn out to be hateful. But even if it does, hating isn't good for you. And for conservatives, it's counter-productive.
Don't obsess. Spend as much time as you see fit following, discussing, and participating in public affairs. But don't think about them the rest of the time. Life is full of beauty and wonder. Don't let politics blind you to it. Life is full of opportunities for personal and professional fulfillment. Don't let politics distract you from them.
He’s completely lost it....
When donkeys fly.
LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT, SUPPORT OUR NEW PRESIDENT BECAUSE THESE COLORS DONT RUN!
Sounds like something they told the Jews as they took them in cattle cars to Austwitz. We’re been invaded by Hitler Youth! I suggest treating these traitors the same way we were treated during the past eight years. Payback time!
I will support our new president in the same way our current one was.
I plan on treating Bambi with the same amount of respect that Pres. Bush has been given. Surely, nobody can argue with that.
How can we support a Marxist who is not entitled to the presidency and who won by vote fraud? Our duty is to resist him at every turn and work to make his a failed presidency. Then, in 2012, a True American can take the office and all will be right again.
Erm... nice TRY, newbie...
Don’t hate. I don’t assume that the Obama administration will turn out to be hateful. But even if it does, hating isn’t good for you. And for conservatives, it’s counter-productive.
Are you kidding me? Are you not paying attention? Have you not read about this man? Have you not seen vids IN HIS OWN WORDS describing what he is, what he believes. Haven’t you already seen his arrogance?? I for one will not “fold” and take a “wait & see” attitude. I HATE........I HATE what he said he was going to do. And as far as “his” administration, THEY ALREADY HATE.
This guy has completely gone over the edge.
Here is my advice- treat a liar and a deceptor with vigorous and loud derision and express vociferously the lack of credibility he demonstrates every time he opens his mouth (he has given us a lot of ammunition in this regard).
Use every point of truth against him, as saying nothing only encourages fools like this.
Tolerate no attack on the US Constitution- the only way to change the constitution requires a majority of states to agree-something that will not likely happen over the subjects he Desiree's to change. Any attempt at avoiding the constitutional issues via legislative or judicial fiat should be met with audacious and collective rejection and suit.
Hate the behavior, not the man, true, but tolerate neither until the behavior changes.
No need to make it easy for this regime to plunder the public treasury and abrogate the constitution w/o a fight.
God Bless
Don't assume that Obama is always wrong. Judge all of his positions on the merits; don't conclude that a position is wrong just because he takes it.
Actually, that is a pretty good starting assumption, but we have to check just in case he gets one right either by accident or to bring in enough money to do more damage by going outside the enumerated powers in the Constitution.
Be persistent in your opposition.
Oh, I will be. We have a moral obligation to oppose evil, and the Affirmative Action President describes an unrepentant terrorist who attacked his own country as "mainstream", confirming the obvious fact that Obama is evil.
Be fair in your opposition. None of the 101 things that you criticize Obama for should be illegitimate or trivial.
Excellent advice! We need to focus on the big ones, his encroachments on the Bill of Rights and the proper limits of government, not on what his wife wears.

Nailed it! I wish every homeschooler would read this and get back into the system. Maybe not by putting their kids into the public schools but by becoming teachers (especially history!!!) and helping to teach the next generation of kids that our country has always been great and something to be proud of. You can without violating your integrity agree to teach the curriculum, and you can do so while supplementing with "the rest of the story".
Don't hate. I don't assume that the Obama administration will turn out to be hateful. But even if it does, hating isn't good for you. ... Life is full of opportunities for personal and professional fulfillment. Don't let politics distract you from them.
Again, good point. I don't hate tuberculosis bacteria, even though they are a danger to decent people. I don't hate rabid animals. I don't hate Obama. I will do what I can to deal with those dangers as they arise, but God and my family come before thinking about the impending disaster.
For a phrase that's complete gibberish, you sure enjoy saying it.
You trolls are soooo ridiculously transparent.
Excuse me but Republicans didn’t threaten to leave the Country like the Dems did if Bush was elected. I will give him the same respect he gave Nancy Reagan at his News Conference. Trying to make a joke at the expense of the First Lady shows his true colors.
You sign on here recently to tell long time Patriots about this Country. You don’t understand what being the loyal opposition is all about. This Country was not founded on everyone walking in lockstep. I didn’t support the Executive Order route by Clinton and can guarantee you I won’t support the EO route by Obama.
There is not much I agree with Obama on at this point and I, for one, will not be silenced in my disagreement with his policies. If you think we are rolling over, think again. I respect the Office of the President but that doesn’t mean I respect the person who occupies that office. The Democrats have never respected President Bush so why should any of us respect someone who lied about taking federal funding and gave over $800,000 to help fund voter fraud that was massive in states like Ohio.
Come and make me.
More evidence that he is evil - his 4 votes against
the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
BO supports infanticide!
MO did a fundraising letter for hubby on the topic
of Partial Birth Abortion.
Where are their consciences?
Shame.
It is our right and our duty to oppose the 0bamanazis’ agenda, the sooner the better.
The good news - we know who will win that battle. The bad news - we don't know how quickly or how slowly.
No, he’s right.
Go read DemocraticUnderground for a few days. The hate there is incredible, it’s etched deeply into their hearts and actions.
This is one of the most sensible articles on FR in the past month.
Sounds like that ‘Powerline’ writer got his hands on a 220VAC line without proper insulation.
Hear that sound? That’s his brains fryin’.
Screw him, and the horse he rode in on.
If you would have told me two years ago that the future president of the United States was best friends with someone who bombed the Pentagon, I just would have looked at you like you were crazy.
Compulsory service?
Seizing my 401(K)?
And this inside of one week. At what point does he thinnk we should should begin to raise hell?
My calendar says now.
After all he walked right out when his pastor began his hate speech....
oh wait...
And he has never publicly flipped his opponents the bird...
Oh wait...
And he has never falsely smeared a former first lady for a cheap laugh...
Oh wait....
I think I will assume that Obama will be classless and hateful and surround himself with people like him. It will save time.
Its the private economy & our military I'll put my faith in.
I think we should do to him what the rats did to Bush.
furiously oppose everything he does.
Call him every name in the book.
Go overseas and trash him.
Oppose every thing he does and says.
Let’s see if they can take their own medicine.
LOLOL!!! That’s wonderful!
To be honest, I am pretty depressed right now. I went to church today for some relief and the even the pastor was drinking the Obama Koolaid. I will be looking for a new church.
It is hard not to be angry at how the media treated President Bush when he won and this guy who won.
Thank God for My Bible, FreeRepublic, Rush and Hannity. These are the only things keeping me sane these days.
As Ann Coulter said, "I'll respect BO the same way the dims did for the past eight years." Bitler Osama.
Ummm ... there’s no reason to pray FOR the man to achieve greatness, or even success ‘in office’. Pray that he govern with insight, and come to respect if not even apply justice and righteousness.
However, We, The People, are not only duty bound to uphold the Constitution, we are bound to uphold the Founding Principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence. And that says it is our duty -- to our Creator -- to rebel against a ruler or regime that is despotic.
See the problem?
It is time for a letter campaign to Pres. Bush at the end of his tour of duty requesting (politely) that the remaining Haditha defendants (Chessani & Wuterich) be pardoned/reprieved.
Likewise, we should, in a separate letter, as the same for border agents Campion & Ramos.
More than anything else, the result of such a campaign will tell us where the heart of George Bush was throughout his entire presidency. The witchhunt should end with the Haditha Marines, and the injustice should end with Campion & Ramos.
Anybody know the process?
Can President Bush pardon/reprieve LtCol Chessani and SSgt Wuterich at this point in the process? I did not think he could intervene unless they were found guilty. Re. agents Campion and Ramos, I’d think that would be possible. Any ideas, Red?
As a matter of fact, it's fairly straightforward. See here.
See #38, Jude.
I think you can pardon/reprieve someone at any point.
Also, thanks for the link, brother.
No. There has to be a final adjudication of guilt, and the current regulations disfavor pardons for recent adjudication.
Constitutionally, the President can do whatever he wants. Under his current regulations, though, he has to wait until things have settled.
Respect is something that must be earned
Inappropriate “jokes” about former first ladies & leaking confidential information regarding a meeting with the current president does not help to earn respect.
BO has a very long way to go to earn mine!
I will support my country, but I will not respect someone who acts like a thug!
