TEHRAN (AFP) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday congratulated president-elect Barack Obama on his success -- rare praise between the two countries which are archfoes, state agency IRNA reported.
"I congratulate you on being able to attract the majority of votes of the participants of the election," Ahmadinejad said in a message to Obama carried by IRNA.
"You know the opportunities bestowed upon people by God are short-lived," he said.
"I hope you make the most of the chance of service and leave a good name by preferring people's real interests and justice to the insatiable demands of a selfish and indecent minority."
Ahmadinejad told Obama: "You are generally expected to make a fast and clear response to the demands for basic... change in US domestic and foreign policy, which all people in the world and Americans want on top of your agenda."

Oh yeah, and hte AP is so giddy with Obama’s election that they are waxing eloquent claiming that Senator McCain took a “Shellacking” and the GOP is in “Virtual Tatters” and may not survive. I can almost see the writer writhing in exstasy as they squirmed in pleasure with a ‘tingly sensation’ running up their leg like Cris Mathews had that one night. lol

I argued though e-mail for 4 days with a NY Jewish woman I thought I knew
I gave her lots of facts about obama and Israel, even telling her about Hamas endorsing obama
she shrugged it all off and when I told her that she does not seem to be getting all the facts and that the media is baised she then started saying it was a nazi thing as the Nazis sued to do the same
I then gave her non biased sites on the emdia and she refused to admit it still
it does seem no matter what a Dem does about Israel they American Jews for the most part are just plain ignorant and thick
The final straw was when she gave me links from the huffington post
that is when I realised I do not know her any more and alas it seems she has turned radical left like her husband

Off the top of my head, I’d make the analogy to why left wing feminists decided they loathe Sarah Palin. She represents the right way of livng according to stated principles, and they are pretenders who know the real thing when they see it. So they feel inferior and therefore resentful.
But they are too intellectually lazy to adhere to the more challenging way to live. So they pretend to be something they are not, but when compared to the real deal, they fall short, and resort to loathing (and self loathing).
They all deserve each other - Hussein, Jesse Jackson, Hugo Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Bernie Frank, Donna Brazile, Rahm Emanuel, Hamas, what a fine group of people. How on G*d’s green planet did we manage get to this point?
