I will point out that McCain too appeared to be a supporter of restricting free speech on the Right on radio and the internet. There are those within the ranks of the GOP who do NOT like the outbursts from conservatives against Harriet Meyers, and other challenges to the leadership.
I’m curious - how are the comments to his article running? Anyone asking him how he reconciles Obamanazi the healer with the creep who sat in Reverend Hater’s church for 20 years?
Obama has said he is against the Fairness Doctrine. So we must take him after his word because, he’s never lied, right? LOL.
I have to wonder will it even be worth the Dems’ effort to try this. They have done very well even with conservative talk radio. It’s like Rush, Hannity and the rest of them are no threat to the Dems’ power base. They might as well not bother with the uproar it will cause. They can stick with the rest of their far left agenda.

Actually, the MSM (and quite a few CINOs) lied about McCain being erratic and Obama being preturnaturally mature ad nauseum. I mean, I know Howard Dean appeared to lose it on a loop a few years ago, but there’s nothing special about Obama’s cool. Show me the tape where McCain loses his stuff, and I’ll retract my statements.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they TALK of bringing back the fairness doctrine (as a veiled threat to the Right and to energize the Left) while engaging in more indirect efforts like the harassment of most of the major talk radio hosts in a witchhunt (in the mid-2000s, Michael Savage, Bill Bennett, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and others all had scandals, some spurned on by erroneous redactions by Soros’ Media Matters).
Rush took such harassment so seriously after getting “exposed” at the Florida airport that he actively chose not to leave the country until after the election (no overseas vacations).
The shadow government, as Joe the Plumber saw, will abuse the powers of office. People who were worried what Bush would do with “power” neglected to consider how Hillary illegally had 1,000 FBI files and didn’t give a damn that it was against the law. Democrats are going to engage in such digging whether the law permits them to or not. And don’t expect investigations into privacy violation.
If McCain is alive in 4 years, he should go on the Tonight Show, regardless of who’s hosting, and give “the finger” to his critics.

Well, I seem to remember it winning a few statues at the Emmys. So “the industry” publicly supported it. Of course, the industry gives Emmys to HBO like candy to children on Halloween. Which is not to say that the John Adams miniseries didn’t deserve it, ‘cause it did.
