Why can't they call Indiana yet?
Just Look Around

Posted on 11/04/2008 5:53:50 PM PST by pctech

Over 50% of the precincts have reported in Indiana and so far McCain is in the lead, yet they haven't called it yet. 0% of the precincts have reported in PA, and yet they have already called it for Obama.

TOPICS: News/Current Events; US: Indiana
KEYWORDS: in2008; mccain; obama; swingstates

Gary, IN hasn’t weighed in yet... From what I’ve read, it’ll be HEAVILY pro-Obama, which is probably why they’re reserving judgment on who will win it at this point.

Lake County will hold their results until they know how many votes need to be cast.

Calls are always based on exit polling. The networks call early for RATS and very late, if ever, for the Republican.

My feeling is that Lake county will come in last to put O over the top or whatever it takes.

If Indiana goes O then it is over.

It’s the MSM...the ‘short con’...you’ve answered your own question.

The way this is being reported one cannot, with any logical reasoning, believe the tripe being spread.

It ain’t over till it’s over.

Michael Barone was covering this on Fox. He said they aren't calling some states because of the magnitude of the difference between exit polls and the real results reported so far. If they match up they can call it.

On a positive note the error in the exit polls for Va was more than 10%.

IN is in two time zones. Lake, Laporte, and Vanderburgh counties are Dem counties and will report last.

Don’t know where you’re getting the numbers, but the SOS for Indiana hardly has any votes tallied. The polls haven’t been closed long enough for “50% of the vote” to be counted.

They’ve hardly counted any votes from PA yet, just a handful of counties. Surely it’s got to be closer than they say it is.

I don’t understand it either, they have McCain winning WV but when they show the precincts Obama is winning, some of these states have less than 10% reporting.

Heavily dem counties up north haven’t come in yet. Indiana’s only hope with ACORN up there was to come out heavily for McCain in GOP counties. Doesn’t look like it happened. If this many Republicans crossed and voted Obama hope is dead in my opinion. Where are the PUMA’s???? Doesn’t look like they existed in reality either. They either didn’t vote or stayed with Obama. Sad night to see my state go Dem.

I figure the RATS in Gary are waiting to see how many 0bama needs and then will manufacture the amount to put him over the top in IN.

Because the media is in the tank for Obama. And they were in the tank for Kerry. And they were in the tank for Gore (Katie Couric was on the verge of tears when the election was called for Bush in election night 2000, Rather was very solomn (he got rejuvinated like a coke head finding a little baggie later when Gore renegged on his concession).

Same as it ever was. Except Dan Ratherbiased’s bias got the better on him and he lost his job. All of the anchors abuse the public trust. They are partisan hacks.

Turn off that crap.

You are correct! I worked for almost 7 years as a tax auditor in Lake County and it truly is an extension of dirty Chicago politics, especially the northern sector. If the Republicans aren’t watching this carefully Lake County will throw this state to Hussein. I’ve got to believe that Mac is going to need a 5% cushion or more to stave off the fraud.

The wee hours brought out the Gary vote Baraq vs. Hildebeeste, months ago. The scene was this: “Gary, how many votes for obama?” Gary: “How many you need?”

The MSMs have been posting numbers. I know, the Indiana SOS website hasn't been posting anything. I started a different thread piggybacking on that URL but it hasn't posted much of anything in the past 3 hours.

I'm sorry if this double posts but I'm having trouble staying on FR. I keep losing the connection.

They can't call Indiana until all of Indiana except for Gary has reported, so that Daley's thugs know how many votes to send in.

Something is wrong with the Indiana vote. Obama is losing in my county and it is 5 to 1 Democrat.

There are Reagan Democrats, there are PUMAs, the old-fashioned Democrats, and then there are the Obama Socialists. Which has the greatest number in your county?

Do you live in coal country?

WPE according to Fox (within precinct error)

Fox explained that in IN, Obama is not doing as well in actual votes in certain precincts vs exit polling. I think in IN it was -4 for Obama on exit vs actual.

In PA, Fox said Obama was doing -10 on exit polls vs actual. But even though he was underperforming by 10 points, he was still beyond the MOE. So that is why they called PA and not IN.

Obama also underperforming in VA, but I cannot remember how much Fox said.

So basically Obama is underperforming in actual votes counted vs their exit polls.

Nope! This isn't coal country. I would describe the Dems in this county as old-fashioned. This county should have been Obama's by a couple thousand votes in a normal election.

ABC is not calling Texas yet! Like Obama really had a chance there. But they called NY for Obama as soon as the second hand of the clock hit the 12. Looks like the alphabet news are doing their best to get Obama to 270 EV as quick as they can.

Flash .... they just projected Ohio for Obama with only 12% precincts reporting.

It all depends on Lake County.

It looks like McCain will win, but just barely. Lake gives Obama a net of 40-60,000 votes. Anything more than that and Obama wins Indiana.
