It works like this:

Click on the original article. At FreeRepublic the orginal article is found up in the title. So in:

what you would need to click is the Digg ^

Once the digg website loads you click the title of the article (in this case " Howard Stern Exposes Obama Supporters") to go to the original article.

But the whole goal is to click the "digg it" link to add to the number of "diggs" which bumps the article up to a more prominent position at digg. Of course you need to have registered at digg to "digg" the articles.

I'm not really experienced with these social networking websites either. But if it gets the truth to a few more people then why not?

I think I found it. The Video link had taken me away from the DIGG IT site. I went back and found a box that said Digg It!, but when I clicked the box it said, "Make your vote count! To digg, login or join Digg for free."

I kept seeing these Freep this Digg thing and when I clicked, most of the time I couldn’t “Digg” anything. And by the time I figured where the article was, I was lost in “Join Digg” land.

The more diggs, the more prominent the article is within their system....in addition search engines pay close attention to such system and will weigh more heavily dugg articles in their search results given them more exposure...

Honestly, one doesn’t need to know all that to click a link.
