Voter turnout expected to be highest in decades
AP on Yahoo ^ | 11/1/08 | Seth Borenstein - ap

Posted on 11/01/2008 2:16:04 PM PDT by NormsRevenge

WASHINGTON – Voter turnout will be the highest in decades, dwarfing recent presidential elections, experts predict. The only question dividing experts is how huge will it be. Will it be the largest since 1968, largest since 1960 or even, as one expert predicts, the largest in a century? Soaring early voting levels hint at a big turnout, but that could just be the same voters casting ballots earlier instead of more voters hitting the polls. Weather should generally be favorable, according to forecasts.

--snip--

Michael McDonald of George Mason University is so optimistic he's predicting the highest level in a century.

"We're going to definitely beat the turnout rate in 2004, the question is by how much," McDonald said. "We have a chance to beat the 1960 turnout rate."

I find it interesting, though, that early voting isn’t living up to the predictions.

Talk is cheap. I was at a party my daughter was holding for her roommates birthday and casually asked about the election. The vast majority of mush heads said they were hoping for an Obammmma victory, but less than a minute later admitted they had no intention of voting.

I hope after this is over the “media” does it job and breaks out the numbers of non-U.S. citizen voters, deceased voters, child voters, pet name voters and “mystery” voters. I won’t hold my breath though. This is going to be the largest voter fraud turnout in decades. We should celebrate that?

In NW indiana, the turnout is expected to dwarf the actual amount of 18+ year old citizens that reside in the area.

New voters this year, according to registrations include;

Jimmy John’s
Frank Furter
Joe Shmoe
John Doe
Janet Indeetroat
Semore Butts
Mickey Mouse

It will depend on the graveyard votes from Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia.....you get the picture.

I expect to see at least 110% of voting age citizens to turnout to vote in those cities.

We have become a Third World country.

Turnout was pretty high in 1980.

People wanted Carter OUT.

Perhaps people will turn out this time to keep Marxism OUT.

If I were you, I would go vote again, just to be sure.

I have heard many democrats state that this is what they intend to do. They expect that if they vote twice one will get thrown out anyway.

Due to the unprecedented vote fraud this year, even the most conservative statistical researh predicts that each Democrat ballot cast Tuesday will already be worth 1.032 votes—with a margin of error plus or minus .003 points.
“Racist minority suffrage repressionists” like us must legally vote in record numbers just to offset the ACORN/Obama election fix advantage.
Then it will take even more of us to win.

I just updated our ballot return numbers here in SW Washington, and as of today’s count from County Elections, our turnout locally is 55.22%.

We vote by mail exclusively here, and all that’s reported is the number of ballots sent back, with no other information posted until after Election Day.

In any case this is already one of the heaviest local turnouts I’ve ever seen, and there are a lot more Conservatives and Republicans here in SW Washington than Dhimmies....

My gut says this breaks big for McCain on Election Day...

contrary to conventional wisdom, high turnout - unless it is fraudulent voters or exclusively from urban areas - bodes well for Republicans.

Why? Democrats always vote; they love running other people’s lives and many live off government - fed, state, local.

My contrast, there are millions of Americans known as ‘positive apathetics’ who don’t connect their personal lives with public policy. When these people get involved, they have strong libertarian and GOP tendencies.

Funny you should say that, because I did kind of vote twice.

My regular absentee ballot was late getting to me, so I voted a provisional federal ballot just to be on the safe side. Two days after I mailed that one in, my regular one came from Harris County, TX and I voted and mailed it. The rule is that you can send a provisional federal and then if you mail your regular local ballot afterwards, they will replace the provisional with your local one.

I was covering my bases, too. My vote is included with the military ballots. If it was in one of the mailbags that was mysteriously "lost," then the other one covers me. :)

We’ll see. The emphasis on early voting may be a false indicator of the actual turnout come election day.

Another anectdotal bit: I early voted last week and was curious to see this incredible turnout from the youth, blacks and hispanics. There was absolutely NO indication of this. I would estimate that 90% of the people in line were white and over 40. I know this is Arkansas, but this sort of colludes the evidence we’ve been hearing about lack of noticiable increase in the demographics the Left was hoping for.

Yep, except for the activists, most college kids won’t even roll their arses out of bed until around 11:00, then they play xbox while eating their cereal, hit the bong a few times, more xbox, go to class around 1:00. IF they drive by the polls and see more than 10 people in line (which there will be many, many more than that) they will just say “F it. My vote doesn’t count.” Then they will go home and hit the bong and play xbox some more.

I can’t claim full credit. This theory was advanced in 1979 by William Simon, former Treasury Secretary for both Nixon and Ford - who wrote this missive in his best-seller, A Time for Truth - which presaged the Reagan Revolution. Simon was part of Reagan’s ‘kitchen cabinet.’ If any freeper has not read this book, I highly commend it.

BTW, thank you and members of your family for your distinguished service in protecting our nation.

And people are waiting in line for two hours or more around here. I don't think they are voting for Obama but I don't know since I didn't ask.

We even had the polls open today from 10 until 4 and still the line was out the door (at least two hour wait).

I had the opposite experience sadly but that was early on in early voting. There were a lot of blacks voting. Much more so than their percentage of the population. This is in NC and early voting numbers so far bear that out. I think though that things will swing back on election day.

By the time all the votes are counted, every adult, child, dog, cat, donkey, bird, horse, and cow will have to be counted to account for the total number of votes. Probably be about 175% of the population will have voted. Of course, 174% will have voted for the scum Obama.

As any Freeper has experienced, explaining real world conservatism to *”just plain folks” often elicits the shock of having their personal beliefs put into understandable concepts and the added jolt that they DO matter and CAN make a diference.

*those unfamiliar with the Right Wing internet, talkradio,Fox News and the few conservative publications—in short, blind consumers of the MSM.
