Are people going over the stories about the people in Obama's infomercial ala the way the media did to Joe the Plumber?
For example, Obama's first story was about "Larry and Juanita Stewart" of Sardinia, Ohio. Supposedly, they needed to mortgage their home of 10 years to pay for medical bills.
Sardinia's in Brown County, Ohio. A check of their property tax records show no Larry and Juanita Stewart owning property in Sardinia. http://brownauditor.ddti.net/

Isn’t this pretty common with Democratic politicians? The little moral tales spun by Dick Gephart, Tom Daschle, Harry Reid, et. al. often don’t bear scrutiny. But nothing is ever made about it [unlike Joe the Plumber] ‘cause it’s understood that the message is the important issue.
Do you have the names and city/state for each of the featured families? Please post - I’d like to dig as well.

By law, I believe you can ask Ford in Louisville to confirm dates of employment for the couple.
Their property is worth a decent amount, particularly for Brown Co
The median income for a household in the county was $38,303, and the median income for a family was $43,040.
Still, they probably aren’t rolling in it. If she is very ill, then they very well may have to find a way to get more cash to pay for it (particularly if they didn’t purchase good insurance or get it from the Rail road)

So, my guess is they live within the gated community. Looks like a nice place to live.

One thing I do know is there were casting calls during the primaries for Obama commercials. Does it surprise anyone if these people are the same kind of thing?
What gets me about Brian and Rebecca Johnston is that they decided to live outside the city so their kids could go to good schools. Obama’s policies are more in line with the city location.
Plus, why should those who can’t afford children be forced to pay for those who were popping them out without any concern for economics?

How many cell phones they own
How many IPODS they own
What their Cable bill is monthly
How many times a week they eat out, and where
The age/make of every car they own (how many)

The real story with the retired couple is how the run up in property taxes has likely added 200-300 or more in monthly costs to their fixed budgets. Spending and taxation gone out of control - it’s a universal side effect of the “real estate boom.”
One more thing...
Here is an example of one of the houses in the neighborhood.
Pretty typical of newer houses in SW Ohio, but again a little pricier for Brown County which isn’t a wealthy county. People tend to live there and work in Cincy.
Their house for $240,000 probably runs upwards of 3,000 square feet based on some of the other properties listed in the area. I bet they’ll be mad when Obama takes away the tax credit on the mortgage for their “mansion”. (Hey - who needs more than 2,000 sf anyway- right?)
I didn’t see the infomercial, but it sounds like they are having health problems. Whatever $ they might have tied up in their house or neighboring property is not worth much when it comes to paying off hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical bills if they had crummy health insurance.
google the name of the community. It is one.
I agree. I don’t begrudge retirees for living in a nice place and know that medical bills can be awful. He worked for the Railroad according to something I read, so who knows what kind of insurance they had.
